I have taught in schools and privately since finishing my studies and have experience teaching students from age 8 to adults. Some of my students go through ABRSM exams whilst others chose other goals or learn just for fun! My lessons balance technical work and warm-ups with learning pieces and even improvisation and playing duets. You can come to your lessons with pieces you would like to learn or together we can decide together what to work on. The length and frequency of lessons are flexible and can be discussed.

Hello! My name is Rhiannon and I teach violin and viola to adults and children from beginner up to grade 8 standard. While I teach music of many styles my expertise is in classical music. I have a bachelor’s degree in music at the University of Manchester and recently completed a Masters degree in Violin Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama for which I was awarded a Distinction. Alongside teaching I work as a freelance violinist for orchestras and string quartets, and as a support musician for community music projects. I have a friendly and patient manner and sees the primary reason for learning an instrument as passion and enjoyment as well as the improvement of confidence and wellbeing.

The course that I propose is BILINGUAL FRENCH / ENGLISH, as well as 2 BOOKS.

Age and musical taste are not restrictive when in the program, you can with qualitative daily work (not quantitative) quickly observe your progress.

Here the pleasure of playing music is put forward.

The kind of music you love most will be the focus of the course, their codes and secrets will be the focus of our study, that's what I want to share with you.

We can do technical lessons and simply learn together how to play one or more songs of your choice or mine, enrich your game with this approach and your repertoire!

If you make a request, this program is obviously accompanied by the pleasure of learning more in theory and being able to directly apply new knowledge on its instrument and identify its common or rare use in the pieces discussed in class.

In this case, the theory is translated to be accessible to anyone, both for those who are connoisseurs and for those who discover everything from absolute zero.
The exercises, songs, and theoretical explanations offered throughout the program are organized in an order of progressive difficulty.

My name is Camille, I'm 26 years old and I grew up in France, where I completed my violin training with soloist Marie Cantagrill. I then obtained my Bachelor's degree at the University of Arts in Graz (Austria), and I also studied for a year at the Academy of Music in Krakow with Professor Wojciech Koprowski.

Currently, I am continuing my studies in violin pedagogy (IGP – instrumental and vocal pedagogy) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW).

I believe in the importance of flexibility, that my job as a teacher is not to be stuck in my ways or methods but to be open to what you as an individual are seeking. I'd happy to find out what that is.

You could be a complete beginner who fell in love with the violin, or a good intermediate player who wishes to come back to the violin, or someone needing some help to prepare for an audition, or maybe you only want to play a specific type of music... In all cases, we could make it work.

I am also convinced that the relationship one has with the violin should be built out of physical ease and love for music. We often hear that the violin is a very difficult instrument, and although that is true to some extent, it doesn't need to be. I truly believe in the importance of physical exploration with the instrument to find what works best for you.

Finally, my specialization in early music (baroque and classical periods) gives me a unique approach on the classical repertoire, the evolution of musical style, and different technical insights. This background allowed me to dwell deeper in certain subtleties such as ornamentation, articulation, just intonation and sound production (I personally play on gut strings).

I also offer music theory lessons.

If you are more advanced and interested specifically in baroque violin lessons, that is of course also possible.
