Hi everyone! I am Myrthe, a Dutch national living around the world. I love language learning and five years ago I discovered that I also love teaching languages. I am advanced in English and Dutch, fluent in Chinese and German, conversational in Spanish and am currently picking up Arabic.

I have three years’ experience as a Dutch teacher in Taiwan and four years’ experience tutoring kids aged between 3-14, both in Dutch and English. I have taught various subjects such as language, reading, writing, public speaking, science and more.

My teaching methods depend on your learning style. I am open to following your curriculum or can provide you with one based on your needs. My classes are focused on YOU and are 100% personalized to your desire.

For (younger) children I am a big fan of learning through play and music. I believe that using something within a child's specific interest is an easy way to pick up a new language.

I am also comfortable working with a textbook/method.
In case you decide to work with a specific textbook or method, I can arrange it for you, or you can provide one for me to teach from.

If you are the parent(s) of multiple children, I would be happy to teach them at the same time or different times. I’m sure we can make a good deal regarding rates.

Nederlands is een moeilijke taal om te leren, maar een leuke taal om te leren.

Ik heb 3 jaar ervaring met het lesgeven van Nederlands als eerste en tweede taal aan basisschoolkinderen in het buitenland.

Tijdens mijn taallessen ligt de focus op jouw persoonlijke doelen en specifieke behoeften. Ik pas mijn lesstijl en materialen aan op basis van wat jij wilt leren.

Deze les is perfect voor kinderen en volwassenen, voor beginners, halfgevorderden en gevorderden, waar u ook bent.

Enkele dingen die u bij mij kunt leren, zijn onder andere:

Engels is de meest bekende taal ter wereld en wordt vaak gebruikt voor internationale communicatie. Daarom is het ontzettend belangrijk en misschien zelfs noodzakelijk om de taal onder de knie te krijgen. Bovendien kan het erg handig zijn om Engels te kennen bij het zoeken naar een baan, het solliciteren naar een cursus of opleiding, of het starten van een bedrijf. Het kunnen begrijpen en spreken van Engels wordt vaak gezien als een pro, zo niet een vereiste.

Tijdens deze cursus kan ik je helpen je voor te bereiden op je Engelse test. We kunnen samen oefenen. In deze cursus kun je verwachten dat je een aantal dingen leert en oefent:
- leesstrategieën die u helpen antwoorden in een tekst te vinden
- luisterstrategieën die u helpen de gesprekken tijdens de test te begrijpen
- grammatica die u helpt uw luister- en leesvaardigheden te verbeteren
- de sleutels tot het schrijven van een goed essay tijdens je toets
- woordenschat om vragen op de toets te kunnen begrijpen en beantwoorden

Tijdens de lessen zal ik je online materiaal geven. Ik kan je ook huiswerk geven dat je kunt maken en dat ik voor je zal nakijken. Nadat ik het heb nagekeken, zullen we de foute antwoorden bespreken en ons richten op verbetering.

Mijn lessen zijn gericht op JOU en jouw doel. Daarom zal mijn lesstrategie gebaseerd zijn op jouw leervoorkeuren en kennis. Als je een visueel denker bent, zal ik je visualisaties geven om het leerproces gemakkelijker te maken. Als je moeite hebt met slechts een bepaald onderdeel van de test, kunnen we ons alleen op dat onderdeel richten.

We will start our lessons by learning the most basic skills such as correct pronunciation and simple grammar rules.
We will continue to improve our speaking, listening and grammar levels by learning new informations step by step.
Based on my 13 years of experience, I think that A1 level is a very important period in language learning. When learning any language, beginner level students should learn it in the correct order and important details should be explained well by practising previous ones. Students at more advanced levels, such as A2, B1 or above, also need to practice their skills at the previous level thoroughly to improve their language skills. I try to provide good teaching by paying attention to these important points in my lessons. I keep our lessons' notes in a word file. After our lessons, I send you back all the additional notes and exercises that we covered in our lesson as a Word file.
