A graduate of the CNSM de Lyon with a Master's degree, I am a professional cellist with extensive orchestral and teaching experience. I currently serve as a substitute at the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Opéra de Lyon, and the Orchestre de Chambre de Lyon since 2023. I also had the honor of performing as a performer at the 28th Concert des Victoires de la Musique Classique. As a cello teacher at the Midosi music school in Saint-Didier-au-Mont-d'Or, I teach students of all ages and levels. I offer cello (and piano) lessons for all ages and levels, in a relaxed atmosphere. The material is tailored to each student's needs and goals.

Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else. I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. Turkish reed flute is an essential instrument of Turkish Classcial Music. It has a deep and dense culture dating from 13. century around. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. As of many teachers you can find online but you make sure that not every tutor meets with traditional style. Solfege and method are inseperable parts of the lessons. So for beginners and intermediate students must follow a compotent tutor to learn about the way of classic form.

Hello! Being a singer and a singing teacher, many many times I have found myself in the situation of having to work on ear training, or solfège, or music theory... or all the above listed! Approaching music and having no clue of these elements can totally be intimidating and off-putting, but in 2023 I feel like it’s a pity that these subjects still are looked at with such a fear. I want to prove to you that building this basic knowledge can be easy, accessible, and not heavy at all!
