My name is Sylvia and I am an American (from New York). I have been teaching English for the last five years, as a private tutor in a variety of settings; online, in-person and in a group setting for companies and start-ups.

My style of teaching is informal but yet practical. I always ask my new students what their goals are and I would come up with ideas on how we can customize the lessons. This way, we can reach that goal one step at a time.

I am flexible in my way of teaching because I have taught students from 12 years to 62 years old so don't be shy.

Given the current Coronavirus situation, I would like to offer only ONLINE English lesson through Skype/Zoom.

Based on my 13 years of experience, I think that A1 level is a very important period in language learning. When learning any language, beginner level students should learn it in the correct order and important details should be explained well by practising previous ones. Students at more advanced levels, such as A2, B1 or above, also need to practice their skills at the previous level thoroughly to improve their language skills. I try to provide good teaching by paying attention to these important points in my lessons. I keep our lessons' notes in a word file. After our lessons, I send you back all the additional notes and exercises that we covered in our lesson as a Word file.
