Do you want to improve your creative writing skills, but aren't sure how?

In my sessions we will cover grammar, prose writing elements such as creating ambience, imagery and other aspects of creative writing.

Participants are encouraged to send work they are currently working on, before commencing classes in order to identify strengths and areas needing improvement.

Über mich

I am a compassionate, creative individual with a passion for teaching languages. I am very agreeable and I believe in an open-door policy. I am good listener, and I can sum up a situation very fast. I am very perceptive and should it be necessary, I can be an agony aunt. But first and foremost, I am an educator. I am in your corner, given you also pull your weight.

Being able to teach Afrikaans or English, gives me a sense of purpose. I am a motivator, an enforcer and I always want the best for my learners according to what they are able to deliver according to their abilities.

I meet the learner on the level they are at, and I also rely on the learner to point out areas in which they need extra attention. I tutored a learner with special needs Afrikaans Eerste Addisionele Taal for 3 years - from grade 10 - 12 and her marks improved. I tutored private learners in Saudi Arabia (English) and in 2025 I tutored a grade 8 learner. I have 15 years of teaching experience in mainstream schools, in LSEN schools and as a Learning Support Teacher. I am especially focused on improving reading comprehension. I use worksheets, or the learner provides me with the material they are struggling with. I build exercises and classes accordingly.

English classes for primary and secondary learners

Develop confidence to express yourself and master the language. I focus on grammar, comprehension skills, word attack skills, reading skills to help you boost your marks. I analyse student level and work remedially to improve student performance. My class is a relaxed, non-judgmental, safe space.

Lessons are an hour in duration.

Afrikaans lessons for young learners, high school learners and adult learners wanting to improve their marks or confidence.

The classes are ideal for high school learners or adults to improve their Afrikaans skills: conversational, grammar, reading and reading for comprehension, presenting orals, literature and writing.

These lessons are geared to improve confidence and better proficiency.

An initial baseline assessment will be conducted to assess level of proficiency in Afrikaans.

Lessons in literature are based on current curriculum content.

Lessons are based on CAPS curriculum.
