Learning English is not only about vocabulary and grammar structures. Language is dynamic and fluid and requires flexibility and skill. However, learning boring phrases or uncommon vocabulary without any practical speaking or writing practice is not efficient. To really improve any language skill, you will need confidence, creativity and control of the language and that comes from having a patient (and fun) teacher, interesting materials or topics and a childlike wonder in developing a useful skill.
