I love teaching music to people of all ages and backgrounds, regardless of their musical preferences. As a passionate violinist, I enjoy guiding students from beginners to advanced levels, helping them grow both technically and artistically.

My students have achieved great success in music competitions and exams, and they always perform beautifully in concerts. In our violin lessons, we start with foundational elements like scales, progressing through repertoire suited to each student’s skill level. I also incorporate specialized techniques, such as the Tune Day Method, to enhance their playing.

Diany is from Costa Rica, and she started playing the violin when she was just 7 years old. Now, she travels all over the world as a violinist, performing in many different countries. She loves being on stage and playing in exciting shows that are full of energy. Music and dancing are her favorite things, and she likes to mix them together with stylish outfits.

Diany is not only a talented musician but also a dedicated teacher. She started a music school with a big idea—to make a place where people could learn music and really love it too. She believes that music can change lives, and that's why she works so hard to share it with others. Her school is a place where students can learn and grow while having fun and feeling inspired.

• Graduated with a degree in Violin Performance from the University of Costa Rica in 2012.
• Member of the University of Costa Rica Chorus with recording by Eddie Mora Studio in 1998.
• Base violinist in the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Costa Rica from 2010 to 2011.
• Served as a base violinist in the National Orchestra of Cartago, Costa Rica from 2010 to 2014.
• Invited violinist in the National Symphony Orchestra of Nicaragua in 2015 and 2016.

• Worked as a base violinist in the Salabery Quarter Tango, Costa Rica from 2014 to 2018.
• Base violinist in Bossa Carioca, performing Brazilian music in Costa Rica from 2018 to 2023.
• Received recognition as a Founder Professor of the Strings Section at the House of Culture of Ciudad Colon, San José, Costa Rica in 2019.
• Currently travels globally to play with various bands, collaborating with groups from Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, Panama, Portugal, Armenia, and Georgia, covering genres from jazz to pop.
• Specialized in live music entertainment with dancing since 2016, being the first Costa Rican violinist to do so.

Hi there, I'm a professional violin and viola teacher, teaching in person and online, in English, German or Russian.

Alongside teaching 1:1 and coaching chamber music over the last 12 years, I've led numerous workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ in the UK and taught on the Primary and Senior Arpeggione Viola Courses run by Jacky Woods, coaching some of the UK’s leading young musicians. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I have participated in ESTA conferences across Europe, including at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, and in Valletta, Europe’s cultural capital in 2018.

I regularly prepare his students for auditions, competitions and exams at all levels, and has a holistic teaching style incorporating music theory, aural and sight reading skills and physical awareness. Many of my students have won regional and national competitions and have been accepted into specialist music schools and youth orchestras.

Outside of teaching, I performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, recently including at Kings Place London, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Philharmonie Berlin. I received first prize at the Małopolska competition, the Barbirolli Prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and the Len Lickorish Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League International Strings Competition.

I hold a Masters degree with first class honours from the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, where I studied with Tabea Zimmermann, and the University of Arts, where I studied with Lawrence Power, as well as a Bachelors degree with the same distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where I began in the primary department 20 years ago.

I'm an established, qualified, and experienced violin teacher who has worked in London for the last 26 years. I'm now back in Belgium for some new musical adventures, as well as to meet new students.

I welcome students from the age of four to adults. I have a real passion for transmitting my love of music, and I like to have a creative, playful and holistic approach to teaching. I also play the piano and often use it for aural training or to accompany my students (or do violin duets). I do believe that music is not just for competitions or exams but a skill for life that can bring tremendous joy, discoveries, friends and fun along the way. Learning an instrument is also a great way to foster different qualities such as patience, diligence, presence, resilience, deep listening and the ability to express and share our emotions with others.

Having explored many different violin methods and styles, I take a different approach according to each student. I like to teach a solid classical technique with some scales, studies and pieces, but there are many different ways to make music enjoyable or find other paths depending on the student's goal.

Although I was trained classically in Belgian Conservatoires and the Guildhall School of Music, I do like to teach a variety of music that is not just classical (Celtic, world, klezmer, jazz, tango, film music, pop...).
I often encourage my students to compose or improvise freely. In the last two decades, I have led many youth orchestras and violin workshops and worked for many different primary and secondary schools in England.

I'm a member of the European String Teachers Association.

This violin course is designed for beginners and intermediate students, and aims to develop the essential technical and musical skills for playing smoothly and expressively. The program includes learning the fundamentals of violin playing, such as correct posture, grip, and producing a clear tone. You'll work on scales and arpeggios to develop your dexterity, as well as bowing techniques to master different stroke patterns. I believe in the importance of flexibility, that my job as a teacher is not to be stuck in my ways or methods but to be open to what you as an individual are seeking. I'd happy to find out what that is.

You could be a complete beginner who fell in love with the violin, or a good intermediate player who wishes to come back to the violin, or someone needing some help to prepare for an audition, or maybe you only want to play a specific type of music... In all cases, we could make it work.

I am also convinced that the relationship one has with the violin should be built out of physical ease and love for music. We often hear that the violin is a very difficult instrument, and although that is true to some extent, it doesn't need to be. I truly believe in the importance of physical exploration with the instrument to find what works best for you.

Finally, my specialization in early music (baroque and classical periods) gives me a unique approach on the classical repertoire, the evolution of musical style, and different technical insights. This background allowed me to dwell deeper in certain subtleties such as ornamentation, articulation, just intonation and sound production (I personally play on gut strings).

I also offer music theory lessons.

If you are more advanced and interested specifically in baroque violin lessons, that is of course also possible.
