🌍 My Experience & Why I Teach

I studied Classical Cello with distinction in Athens and trained further with eminent teachers such as Dimitrios Gouzios, Catalin Ilea, and Lucio Amanti. Since relocating to Berlin in 2008, I’ve been immersed in experimental, free jazz, and contemporary music scenes.

I perform in projects like Black Veil and Antiqva, have composed for theater (including The Robbers at Meiningen National Theater), and worked in film & art productions collaborating with composers like Johnny Klimek and Mario Grigorov.

Teaching is a core part of my musical mission. I believe technique should serve expression — and that every student’s voice is unique. Whether your goal is mastery of classical works, sonic experimentation, or composing your own music, I aim to support your growth with clarity, empathy, and creative openness.

I’m Dalai, a Greek-Mongolian cellist, singer, and composer based in Prenzlauer Berg. I offer cello lessons for children, adults, beginners, and experienced players, combining classical technique with creativity and self-expression.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals — whether you want to learn your first notes, refine your sound, or explore improvisation and modern styles. Together, we focus on good technique, musical awareness, and personal connection to the instrument.

I hold a degree in Classical Cello Performance (with distinction) and have performed internationally in both classical and contemporary projects, including solo, with international bands and ensembles, and musical theatrical performances. I’ve also composed and recorded for theater and film (HBO, Netflix).

I believe learning the cello should be inspiring and joyful. My teaching style combines structure and freedom, so students can develop not just skills, but their own unique musical voice.

Ich bin Dalai, griechisch-mongolische Cellistin, Sängerin und Komponistin, und unterrichte in Prenzlauer Berg. Mein Unterricht richtet sich an Kinder, Erwachsene, Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene. Ich verbinde klassische Technik mit Kreativität, Improvisation und Ausdruck.

Der Unterricht wird individuell an deine Ziele angepasst – egal, ob du gerade anfängst, dein Spiel verfeinern oder moderne und experimentelle Stile entdecken möchtest. Wir arbeiten gemeinsam an Technik, Klangbewusstsein und musikalischem Ausdruck.

Mein Ziel ist es, dass Lernen Spaß macht und inspiriert. Ich helfe meinen Schüler*innen, eine solide technische Basis zu entwickeln und gleichzeitig ihre eigene musikalische Stimme zu finden.

Hello everyone,

I give piano lessons in Lichtenberg, but can also move me.

Coming from classical school, I have the heart to transmit a good technique, but I often complete with solid notions of music theory. Basically my teaching aims to make you autonomous when you approach a new work.

Reading notes, deciphering, position of the body, working ranges - arpeggios - trills / work on the typical exercises of the Cortot school. Musical theory, how to build scales, alterations etc etc etc ......
We can tackle together the classical repertoire, the blues, some jazz, pop music ...

How to work the voice ? Practice ? Perform ? Compose ? Interpret a song ?
It's through technic but also practising songs from your favourite artists that you understand how to place your voice and sing your song and achieve your musical journey. Starting from the basics like breathing support, vocal routines, learning songs to practising stage presence, composition.
In my classes, I go through all this points and focus on what the student needs and wish to learn.

I had the chance to learn with the greatest Jazz singers of the New York scene. I studied, Jazz, Pop, Classical singing, which lead me to understand the voice in its full. For five years I focused on performing and touring with my different projects, and there I built my skills for the stage and being comfortable in front of a crowd.

My name is Léa, I am a classical singer, mezzo-soprano from France, I recently graduated from Geneva High School of Music with a Master in Vocal Performance and relocated in Berlin.

I'm originally from Spain, and although my native language is French, I also speak English fluently, so communication won't be a problem at all. Lessons can be conducted in English, French, or Spanish, depending on your preference.
