No previous knowledge of ear training is required for the instrument. Gradually you learn to read the notes. For those who wish, I give AMV (General Musical Education) Here you practice extra on reading, rhythm, general & specific hearing exercises, and theoretical knowledge. Those who are going to higher music studies and experience a gap in music theory can come to me for specific training. I really recommend Lin for everyone who wants to learn Chinese the proper way. She puts a large focus on the fundamentals such as pronouncing the syllables just as native Chinese would do it. She has an extensive background as a renowned Chinese teacher in Wuhan and knows the ins and outs of the official HSK exams. Her way of teaching is interactive and contains a lot of variety. She is also very flexible. For example, she was open to have video calls in between classes to check up on my progress. Lin is definitely the person to go too if you want to take the challenge of learning madarin!

It's been a while since I followed the lesson with Saya, but I was very happy of the lesson. Classically structured piano teaching, but with a laid back feel and a focus on learning actual music. I didn't end up following more lessons because of joblife, but if I ever pick up lessons/ piano again, she's the first I would contact. Joris
