I am a certified English teacher who has recently moved to Rotterdam from the United States. English is my native language. Whether you are a true beginner, intermediate, or an advanced English speaker who is simply looking for someone to practice with, I am here to help.

I have a true understanding of how intimidating learning a new language can be and tailor each lesson to suit your individual needs. We will assess what you already know and work together to set goals that will push you out of your comfort zone but not be overwhelming. Since moving to Rotterdam I have helped many students work towards their English language learning goals. I have experience teaching ESL (English as a second language) for business and regularly help ESL students prepare for interviews.

A little about the lessons: I like to use a variety of materials to build my lessons but a typical lesson will focus on a relevant topic to suit your interests and needs, and give you various opportunities to practice listening, comprehension, discussion, formation of complex thoughts and ideas, reading, and building vocabulary. I like to utilize technology when it can be used to enrich the lesson and assign homework as a continuation of our session.

*My rate includes our time together as well as additional time spent outside of class preparing your individualized lessons/materials and building a program that works best for your English language learning needs.

This class will have an informal approach to learning the language, adapted to each students' needs and preferences. A diversity of materials will be provided, as well as online resources, all depending on the age of the student. As a German speaker with a C1 level, I am aware of the cultural implications of the language, even though I am not an expert in it, of course. I specialize in teaching Greek to beginners and intermediate students, providing them the foundation to master this difficult language. I cover topics such as word order, grammar, spoken vs. written Greek, conversational and every day Greek, as well as spelling, writing, and pronunciation. Each class can be tailored to the students individual needs. This class is for anybody who just wants to improve speaking/writing, as well as for those just starting out.
Lessons can be given online, or in person.
Greek is a language that is increasingly spoken, and is useful in many aspects of life, including but not limited to: biology, geometry, medical terminology, etc. With Greece's economy growing, it is an ideal destination to move either as an expat, digital nomad, or as a startup company. Why you should choose me as your Tutor:

1) Having moved around quite a bit, I understand the stress students undergo adapting to new schooling systems.
2) I enjoy working privately with students to build their confidence.
3) I previously was a primary school teacher of all subjects (Grades 1&2) for a top private international school in Lagos Nigeria.
4) I am familiar with international school curriculum ad challenges faced by students when moving to a new country. 5) I have extensive experience with students of all learning levels. I have been privately tutoring.
6) I am not very strict when it comes to extra time. We can extend a bit. +10 mins is no problem. I always think that long sessions with small pauses are better so that you get a grip of the topic.
7) I can teach in group as well as alone, what suits you best. In case you are out for a break and don't want to lag behind in comparison to what is going on in school we, can have some back to back classes in short time, if that suits you.
In summary, Teaching has been a long time passion for me. I have about 12 years teaching experience and have held classes with several group of students. After moving to University I was also delivering sessions for my classmates from different parts of the world.

Do you want to learn German from a native?

I can teach you German depending on your needs. Wether you want to practice your grammar or speech and conversational skills (or all) is up to you. At first we would determine your level and wishes, from then on I will teach you with my study material and we will practice together. I have build my study material while living abroad in Spain. There I had students from all ages that I thought German to. I always try to incorporate creativity and fun into my lessons. Homework is also a recommended part of the lessons.

The classes can be held in person in Rotterdam or online!
