I am a music teacher by profession and have had experience teaching flute, piano, recorder as well as subject music (including theory, music history and music in film study) at a prestigious high school in South Africa. I received my BMus degree at the Nelson Mandela University in the Eastern Cape and received tutelage from Dr Erica Bothma and Dr Erna Cloete.

I can teach flute and recorder up to an advanced level, and piano from beginner to a grade 5 level. I am also able to teach music theory up to a grade 5 level.

I can provide both structured lessons with the goal to play/write an exam, or provide lessons just to learn for the pleasure of playing an instrument. Each pupil will be treated for their individual needs and desires. I can offer my lessons in English and/or Afrikaans. Unfortunately I do not have a piano in my home yet.

I have always had a love for music and have wanted to share that love with the world.

ATCL and LTCL (Associate and Licentiate Trinity College of London, respectively)
Grade 8 level certificate in piano, also through Trinity College of London.

Erfahrung / Qualifikationen

I have experience teaching flute, recorder and piano for over 7 years and I was appointed at a prestigious high school in 2019 as a music teacher, teaching class music to grade 8s and 9s as well as subject music to grades 10 through 12 (this includes music theory, history of music and music in film). In my final year of teaching in South Africa I was promoted to Head of the Music Department.

If you are interested in improving your reeds, welcome to my lesson, where you can know more about the reeds and learn how to adjust and maintain them with some simple steps!
I also offer clarinet private lessons, I could help you not only improve the skills but also solve the problems of the instrument itself.

I am a 25 year Master Student from Düsseldorf. I am very flexible timewise as I most of my uni content is online and recorded. Now some information about my guitar experience:

I've been playing acoustic and electric guitar for over twelve years. I played in two bands and was a prize winner atat German music contest on state level. I have already given lessons for 3 children and 5 adults and can teach beginner to advanced level. "Offline and "Online".

In my lessons, I make sure that fun and motivation is quickly generated. I explain music theory only to the extent that it always contributes to direct progress on the instrument. I am always patient and friendly, and as soon as you have some basic knowledge, I am happy to respond to individual wishes.
Of course I also give lessons via Skype and Zoom and send practice material as a Word file afterwards.

Classes can be held at my place in Utrecht Overvecht or as I can also come to your place. Whatever you prefer.

Who I am?
Hi! My name is Jobbe. Once upon a time, I was an aspiring academic, but longing for a more creative way to share my voice I started singing and quite I recently graduated form the Master of Music program direction Music Theatre. I know how arduous the artistic journey can be yet, we take it none the less, because we are all striving for this little moment of magic that arises when everything falls into place. For me, I saw this happening many times during a performance but also in coaching others and it gives me chills every time. And I would be honoured to help you pass on this little spark of magic to others!

As I am only just starting with these individual lessons for a limited time they are available.

From the technique and theory of singing to performative qualities and coaching, I can help! Together we can work to get your singing to the next level!

My flute lessons are available in a flexible time frame from 30 minutes to 1 hour, with a frequency of weekly or biweekly, depending on your preference. As a graduated flutist with a bachelor and master degree from the conservatory, where teaching was an important part of my education, I have experience with both group lessons and individual lessons. My method is focused on enthusiasm for music and flute playing, where I welcome every student, regardless of background, language or level. Everyone is welcome to start their musical journey with me!
