I am a piano teacher with over 25 years of experience with students in different age groups from preschoolers, teenagers and adults. Offering a comprehensive and effective approach for students that are welcome to study in person or from the comfort of their home with online classes.
In our classes, we will learn how to read music, do scales and discover different pieces to improve technique.
If you enjoy genres such as classical, pop and jazz or are looking to learn some of your favorite songs or improve the skills you already possess, it would be a pleasure to help you!
My goal is to inspire my students to learn music and a skillset they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

For online classes, you will have to use your keyboard/piano instrument. I will gladly help you evaluate its qualities for your future learning experience.
For in person lessons we will be using my piano.

Graduated with a Diploma of Professional and Advanced Studies and a Master's degree in piano performance at the University of Montreal, I also obtained my Diploma of Musical Studies with A+ mention from the Jacques Thibaud Conservatory of Bordeaux in France. I have been working as a piano teacher for eight years now. I teach piano and music theory to all types of profiles, children, adolescents or adults ranging from a beginner to a professional level. During my musical journey, I tried to nourish my knowledge in the service of instrumental practice and pedagogy. During my lessons, we will cover subjects that are essential for me such as good position at the piano, flexibility of playing, stress management, bodily relaxation and of course, interpretation. My pedagogy is based heavily on this last point so that the student can stand out musically and find their own language while respecting a fair interpretation. I work every day to find a fun side to instrumental practice for the youngest while instilling in them the theoretical and technical bases they will need to develop their playing.

My lessons are for anyone wishing to approach the piano in a personalized way, regardless of the style and level targeted.
I divide my teaching into equal parts between theory (melody, harmony and rhythm) and practice (all pieces of your choice), the aim being to offer you a grid of global understanding of writing and musical interpretation.
I start from the principle that you have to have fun from the start, while looking for a high level of autonomy.

Having grown up abroad (in the Central African Republic then in Saudi Arabia), I had the chance to learn the piano through an eclectic teaching.
In particular, I was a student of Gulmira Abdukhalikova, a Kazakh concert artist now based in Abu-Dhabi, who made me progress by applying the famous "Russian method". At 13, I won 3rd place in the International Piano Competition of Île de France at Maisons-Lafitte.

At the end of my adolescence, I participated in the Big Band of the Children of Jazz, within the framework of a festival organized each year in Barcelonette by Stéphane Kochoyan (who was also, at the time, artistic director of the Jazz Festival in Vienna).

Subsequently, I set sail for Canada where I lived for six years. I co-animated several Open-Mics of poetry, as a pianist-improviser, and I produced two albums: "Fragments" (2018) and "Echoes of space-time" (2019), the latter having been 100% improvised and recorded "one-shot" in the studio.
At the end of 2020, three years after having started giving piano lessons in Canada and France, I publish "The method of the self-taught pianist" as well as my own sight-reading manual.

Nadine holds a B.F.A. in Integrative Music Studies from Concordia University with a focus on guitar. She has been a certified teacher at Montreal Academy since 2009.

As a vibrant presence in Montreal’s music scene, Nadine performs regularly with her solo project as well as with various local and international artists. Her musical journey began at the age of five, inspired by her grandmother's Arabic piano classics. She transitioned to guitar during high school, where she played in rock bands, and continued her studies in jazz and classical guitar at CEGEP and university. Over the past six years, she has delved into the oud, integrating it into her original compositions.

With 26 years of teaching experience, Nadine offers instruction in a diverse range of styles, including Pop, Funk, Blues, Rock, R&B, Jazz, and Classical. Whether you aim to learn an instrument, write songs, prepare for an audition, or explore creativity across various musical genres, Nadine provides the tools and guidance needed to achieve your goals. Her lessons cover sight-reading, songwriting, ear training, improvisation, fingerpicking techniques, and more, all tailored to each student’s musical interests.

Depuis 2004, Roman, pianiste russe, joue comme soliste invité dans des salles de musique à travers l'Europe et l’Amérique du Nord. Il s’est établi une réputation de « brillant pianiste » et ses interprétations ont été décrites comme « vives, émotionnelles et extrêmement passionnées », « chargées d'expressivité russe et d’une ombre d'élégance française » (Le Petit Bleu, presse de Bretagne, France).

Pendant ses études au Conservatoire d'État de Moscou, où il était dans la classe du remarquable pianiste mondialement connu Naum Shtarkman, Roman a gagné le Grand Prix du Concours international Vorzel, à Kiev. En 2010, il a remporté le premier prix du Concours Musical de France, à Paris. L'année suivante, Roman a suivi un cours de perfectionnement sous la direction du professeur Lea-Yoanna Adam à l'Académie des Artistes Musiciens, à Paris. Depuis 2011, Roman est un membre permanent de cette Académie.

Roman mène une vie musicale variée, incluant des récitals de piano et des concerts avec orchestre en Russie, en France, en Estonie et en Roumanie. Les collaborations de musique de chambre de Roman comprennent celles avec les orchestres symphoniques des villes de Ploiesti et Bacau (Roumanie) où il a travaillé avec les chefs Illarion Ionescu-Galaty et Ovidiu Balan.
