This class is designed to support people to understand and appreciate music in a broad and holistic way. There is a focus on developing methods to get the most out of learning an instrument or learning to sing. There is flexibility in what I can cover in the class, and my classes are usually person centred. My desire is to use the skills and knowledge I have gained in my music career so far to help you to achieve your specific goals. I also have a special focus on getting my students confident with learning how to play by ear. I am first and foremost a pianist. I am classically trained but specialised in Jazz at conservatoire level. I also completed a second study in singing during this time. I currently work for my local music service, and have a specialty as a multi-instrumentalist, teaching beginner violin, flute, recorder and trombone. I have also worked for many years as a lecturer and one-on-one teacher for a young performers conservatoire. I also work as a session musician and accompanist, regularly playing all genres of music!
