The atomic number of carbon is 6. Its electronic configuration is 2, 4. It requires,
4 electrons to achieve the inert gas electronic configuration.
- allotropes in carbon- diamond and graphite(difference in physical and chemical properties)
-bonding in carbon (covalnet bond)
• carbon requires 4 electrons to achieve the inert gas electronic configuration. But carbon cannot
form an ionic bond
• It could gain four electrons forming C4- cation. But it would be difficult for the
nucleus with six protons to hold on to ten electrons.

My name is Maarten, and I have been tutoring biology and chemistry for a year at VMBO to VWO level, mainly through Bijles aan Huis. I enjoy helping students grow and, with a few extra lessons, giving them confidence in the subject again.

In recent times I have successfully guided about 60 students.

My approach is patient, precise and together with the student. I don't rattle off the material for an hour, but let the students explain as much as possible, repeat and answer questions. That's how you learn best!

I have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, with a lot of biology and chemistry. The tutoring is also online and preferably lasts 60 minutes.

In my free time I like to do sports – you can often find me in the gym, on the volleyball court or playing padel. I also play guitar and enjoy crime films, with Heat as my absolute favorite.
