A strange mix of Limp Bizkit and Urbanus; apparently that was all it took to buy my first guitar!
I still remember the difficult path to learning the chords. Still, instead of taking lessons, I decided to learn it myself by printing some pieces of paper from the internet on the one hand and trying endlessly to play along with my favorite bands on the other.
Years later I translated the way I learned to play the guitar into a separate teaching technique that I developed at the Music Center in Bavegem.
At the beginning I ask the students about three songs that they are a bit addicted to. It may happen that these songs are actually too difficult for a beginner; this is where the creative work begins...
Adjust chords slightly, simplify melody lines,... as long as it remains at your level, but above all recognizable and therefore just fun. Quick results with a view to improving and ultimately playing what you should be playing.
Just as in my opinion a good journey starts from the moment you leave your house, your guitar adventure also starts from the first note.
