I have a strong classical trained background and performance experiences.

I got my cello degree at Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona and then I continued my master studies at Royal Conservatory in Den Haag. I've played with many orchestras and ensembles around Europe.

I love teaching students of all ages and abilities. After teaching many years I understand all of my student are unique and different. I make sure to create individual lesson plans and teaching methods for each of my students. Whether you are new to cello, or you had already built up certain foundation.

Cello and/or Music theory lesson for children, adolescent and adult of any level, from beginner to advanced level.
The lesson will be in English or in French.
The most important things to me is to combined pleasure, hard working and sharing.
I will try to make my student play with each other as often as possible and try to organised some small projects like student concerts with maybe some rhythmical workshop, solo pieces or ensemble pieces.

I already had experience of teaching. We have a huge diversity of cello repertoire to work with. But we also can take some specific piece. It depends on your wishes and goals.

Lessons from an advanced internationally active senior teacher. Solistic, chamber and orchestra playing is my forte. Children are welcome. I have 40 years of teaching lessons experience. I use psychology, Kato Havic principles, Feldenkrais, Samuel Appelbaum String Method and also teach advanced students and amateurs.

Let's explore together this beautiful instrument with pieces that you like, finding different ways to play one thing, becoming actors on the stage of music... Let's create games to develop creativity and technique, those that will help you to personalise your way of playing.

With music, we learn much more than just playing pieces. I always thought about how the ancient Greeks introduced Music as an essential subject in school. Music was to heal, to entertain, to get to know yourself more.
I'm just finished my studies in the University of Arts of Codarts (Rotterdam) and I can't deny I will always keep learning after finishing my degree. I'm looking forward to sharing some knowledge and to hear what you already know.

What can i offer?
Styles that we can work on: Classical, Folk, Jazz, Pop music.
Languages that we can speak in the lesson: Dutch, English, Catalan or/and Spanish
Skills that we can work on: basic techniques, jazz and folk techniques, play the cello while singing, percussion on the cello.

How do I work?
Each class will be individually prepared, in order to have the student goals in mind. In our first lesson we can get to know each other and then we will figure out what do you want and how can I help you.
For BEGINNERS I teach the bow, finger positions and other basics with easy songs (with kids I add games to make it more entreating). Such as relating painting with playing, dancing with playing or literature with playing.
For AVERAGE LEVEL we explore, with already some technique, how to play songs, finding a good sound and feel at ease with the instrument.

Extra activities:
Once a month I plan a rehearsal with pianist to work on some repertoire of cello and piano. Meetings with other students are also arranged to play duos together. It's very necessary to play with people and not get stuck in our own individual studies!

Did you always want to learn cello from zero and never had the opportunity to start, or do you want to improve your already learned skills? Then I can definitely help you! I am a Spanish cellist based in Amsterdam since 2008 with more than 10 years experience of teaching.

I offer lessons for all ages and levels, in English, Dutch and Spanish.

Here is a small resume of the lessons I offer:

1. Cello and/or baroque cello lessons: All levels.
The lessons will be focused on two basic elements: Technic of the instrument and developing musical skills.

2. Music theory: Beginners.
Basics of music, such as reading notes, rules and analysis. This field is as important as learning the instrument for it complements the process in music performance.

3. Music History: All levels
The lessons will give a full understanding of the historical development of music, with a complete historical context of the arts, politics and society. These lessons are a key point to students of conservatories and musicians to complement their music knowledge.

I am specialized in teaching adults the cello. Adults learn much faster then children, you will be surprised how quickly you are able to play your first song. If you do not have a cello yet; I do.
The lessons are full hour lessons and given in a nice studio in the Amsterdam Houthavens, with floor cooling and heating.
We play duets from your first lesson and I accompany you on the piano.
I also host cello weekends and workshops, from beginners on to advanced players.
Since I rent out cello's you are able to rent the correct size.
I also sell beautiful old and new cellos.

My name is Wilma, and I have been playing the cello for most of my life. I am passionate about teaching, and have a lot of experience with it.

In my lessons, there is a good balance between technique and musicality. Knowing how to (technically) play the cello is important for being able to express yourself on it, and making beautiful music is the reason we play!

I involve my students in the process of investigating problems and experimenting with solutions. This gives people a better understanding of the challenges, and motivates them to engage with those.

It is particularly interesting that every person has a different way of learning and different needs, and I enjoy tailoring my approach to each student's personality, requirements and tastes, so she or he can optimally learn.

Above all, I love inspiring people, seeing them discover their own aptitude for music and growing as musicians. Playing the cello is a wonderful and fun experience and I heartily welcome anyone who would like to come on this adventure!

I teach in Amsterdam on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, in Zaandam in Thursdays, and in Utrecht on Saturdays.

I'm originally from Belarus and recently completed my Master's degree in classical cello and piano in the Netherlands.
I'm 25 years old and have been playing both cello and piano since I was 8. After more than 15 years of studying and performing music, I've come to realize how much I enjoy sharing my passion and knowledge with others.I currently teach at Leerorkest Music School in Amsterdam and also offer private lessons.
I teach to students of all ages and levels—whether you're a complete beginner or more advanced.
