🌍 My Experience & Why I Teach

I studied Classical Cello with distinction in Athens and trained further with eminent teachers such as Dimitrios Gouzios, Catalin Ilea, and Lucio Amanti. Since relocating to Berlin in 2008, I’ve been immersed in experimental, free jazz, and contemporary music scenes.

I perform in projects like Black Veil and Antiqva, have composed for theater (including The Robbers at Meiningen National Theater), and worked in film & art productions collaborating with composers like Johnny Klimek and Mario Grigorov.

Teaching is a core part of my musical mission. I believe technique should serve expression — and that every student’s voice is unique. Whether your goal is mastery of classical works, sonic experimentation, or composing your own music, I aim to support your growth with clarity, empathy, and creative openness.

I’m Dalai, a Greek-Mongolian cellist, singer, and composer based in Prenzlauer Berg. I offer cello lessons for children, adults, beginners, and experienced players, combining classical technique with creativity and self-expression.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s goals — whether you want to learn your first notes, refine your sound, or explore improvisation and modern styles. Together, we focus on good technique, musical awareness, and personal connection to the instrument.

I hold a degree in Classical Cello Performance (with distinction) and have performed internationally in both classical and contemporary projects, including solo, with international bands and ensembles, and musical theatrical performances. I’ve also composed and recorded for theater and film (HBO, Netflix).

I believe learning the cello should be inspiring and joyful. My teaching style combines structure and freedom, so students can develop not just skills, but their own unique musical voice.

Ich bin Dalai, griechisch-mongolische Cellistin, Sängerin und Komponistin, und unterrichte in Prenzlauer Berg. Mein Unterricht richtet sich an Kinder, Erwachsene, Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene. Ich verbinde klassische Technik mit Kreativität, Improvisation und Ausdruck.

Der Unterricht wird individuell an deine Ziele angepasst – egal, ob du gerade anfängst, dein Spiel verfeinern oder moderne und experimentelle Stile entdecken möchtest. Wir arbeiten gemeinsam an Technik, Klangbewusstsein und musikalischem Ausdruck.

Ich habe ein Diplom in klassischem Cellospiel (mit Auszeichnung) und bin international als Musikerin und Komponistin aktiv – unter anderem mit Black Veil und Antiqva. Außerdem komponiere und spiele ich Musik für Theater und Film (u. a. HBO, Netflix).

Mein Ziel ist es, dass Lernen Spaß macht und inspiriert. Ich helfe meinen Schüler*innen, eine solide technische Basis zu entwickeln und gleichzeitig ihre eigene musikalische Stimme zu finden.

Welcome!

My name is Felicia. I am a cellist and cello teacher originally from Utrecht, the Netherlands. Since 2012 i have been teaching young children, teenagers and adults at multiple music schools in Holland. I also have experience in conducting ensembles and giving grouplessons to young children.

I am teaching cello in Berlin. In the lessons we will work in a fun and constructive way on the personal goal you have with playing the cello. The lessons can be given in English, Dutch or German.

Hi there! I'm a professional, award-winning guitarist with over 18 years of experience playing Jazz, Blues, Funk, Pop, and Finger-style. I have worked internationally as a bandleader, accompanist, and solo performer.

My approach to teaching is very pragmatic, time-efficient, and fun and I prefer not to overwhelm students with too much information or technical exercises. I believe that the number one priority both in playing and teaching music should be enjoyment, and that's why I tailor each lesson to the uniqueness of each student, making sure that we are learning about things that YOU want to learn about and moving towards YOUR unique goals.

My teaching is also informed by years of research into areas such as neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, and meditation. This background has allowed me to develop a truly holistic approach to music, one which promises not only faster improvement, but also greater musical EASE, ENJOYMENT, and CREATIVITY.
