I deliver engaging classes and ensure students' needs and objectives are met with attention to detail, week on week improvements and tailored programmes.

My teaching journey began during my undergraduate degree when I completed a TEFL certificate. Since then I have enjoyed helping fellow students, friends, clients, and colleagues to improve their English language competencies for academic, professional and personal purposes. I have also helped with proofreading and editing academic papers, research articles, websites, grant proposals, marketing copy, and professional documents.

From the nitpicky details like comma placement and “your” vs. “you’re” I have a keen eye for detail and my goal as your teacher is to ensure that your English language abilities open doors for you and allow you to further your personal goals- be it in school, work or travel.

I am currently working remotely while I travel for the summer so my schedule is flexible and I will accommodate time-zone differences and urgent requests if required.

A qualified language coach with 25 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online.

I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam.
Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach.

In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level).

We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. In addition to teaching, I want to do everything to really motivate students to take the next step. That is my strength!

You can also choose the online lesson package with Whereby, Teams or Zoom in a comfortable way. Online classes are one-on-one or maximum one-on-two, for better results.

My English is fluent, as well as Portuguese and Spanish. I understand the difficulties of overcoming barriers for Latin languages and for expats in general, as I have also been an expat.

Online lessons last 75 minutes once a week for 10 weeks to reach a higher level.

This is the normal speed. Including exam training (A-2 or Staatsexamen) and exam at the end.

Intensive training ? That can also be done in five to ten full days, I am used to giving these very intensive trainings to CEOs or managers who want it faster and more intensive ... all lessons within 3 or 4 weeks. Based on the European system A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and C-1

As soon as students want to further improve their knowledge of Dutch, I always advise and coach them to take the State Exam I or II, the only formal Certificate in this country, recognized by employers and universities.

I will try to switch to conversation after a few lessons, to put your knowledge into practice as soon as possible. Don't get too caught up in the grammar.

Teaching is my ultimate passion and even after 25 years it feels like the first time and students always feel inspired to overcome the obstacles.

I also teach you about Dutch social culture, which is intertwined in the course and is strongly related to the language.

My experience has been mostly with children individually or in group lessons learning English as a second language of ages between 7 and 17.
