Hi! My name is Lenka and I´m from the Czech Republic. My lessons have always been entertaining, based on communication games, using fantasy and humor in teaching. This course is fitted individually, depending on the needs of the student.

If the student would like to focus on grammar then the material should be sent beforehand so I can have a chance to look at it and prepare for any questions that may arise.

If the student would like to focus on spelling and/or spoken English then no material should be sent beforehand, just an overview of the request.

If the student would like to focus on reading I'll supply the materials depending on their level.

As for math, I only teach high school students and first year University students. The material for the class should be sent to me beforehand so I can be better prepared to answer any questions.

I believe that language is a powerful tool today. Not only does it help us understand the world from a different perspective, but it also teaches us the culture of the people who use it. I have had the opportunity to work with teenagers for 5 years now as a student associate in a science center, as a mentor and a lecturer in a different field. What I have learned from that experience is that first and foremost one must become a friend with their student, to understand their needs and their attitudes. I will do my best to make the classes fun by combining audio and visual material in my teaching. My field of study is Social and Cultural Anthropology.

Hi everyone,

I am a Belgian student, currently, I'm in my first master's year at the KULeuven. I chose a master's in 'Rehabilitation sciences and physiotherapy specialization musculoskeletal disorders'. During my bachelor years, I developed a very good basic knowledge of science subjects and mathematics: I studied statistics for 3 years, molecular cell biology, chemistry, physics, biomechanics, biochemistry and anatomy.
The quality of teaching of both the University of Leuven as the high school I went to (Heilig Hartcollege Tervuren) is something I am very happy/thankful for. I would love to share the education and the knowledge I acquired by supporting and teaching you or your child/teen. I would consider it as a sort of study pathway counseling. As I already have a bachelor's degree in one of the highest-ranked universities in Europe, I have a broad knowledge of quite some subjects.

I have a lot of experience working with children and teenagers, I have been a leader in a Scout for children aged 12 to 18. I have also been a tutor for 5 years now. I love working with other people as I am a very social, empathic, and motivated person.

I obtained a BA degree in English Language and Literature, as well as an English MA degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology at KU Leuven. This academic background has laid the foundation for my theoretical knowledge of the English language, especially my reading and writing skills. Additionally, I spent a semester in Dublin in order to improve my 'hands-on' speaking skills. I have a genuine passion for the English language which I hope to pass on to my students.

For my classes, I sit down with students to discuss their needs, and attune my course content accordingly. I try to combine theory with practice to keep the classes interesting and lively. Listening and reading skills are especially important in the learning process as they are essential elements to developing an intuitive sense of a language. Furthermore, I attempt to incorporate audiovisual material in order to keep the course content engaging. I am also always happy to discuss and/or lend English books, graphic novels, podcasts, films, music, YouTube clips etc with/to my students.

As a result, I speak English at a native level. Although I do not yet have formal tutoring experience, I'm motivated, patient and passionate about helping children/students improve their English skills. I'm flexible and happy to adapt to the student's needs - whether they want to focus on speaking, reading, listening, writing, or need help with homework. If a student prefers to practice speaking or reading only, that's perfectly fine. Parents and students are welcome to share their goals and preferences. I'm available every day until mid-September. From the end of September onwards, I will be back at university, so I'll mainly be available on weekends. My evening schedule during the week is still unknown, but this can be discussed later on.
