I specialize in tutoring cello for people who are either interested in music or the instruments. I also provide training for people who prepare for exams to enter music schools.

For beginners:
We will listen to various types of music, and I will provide various methods for you to find the most natural way to get familiar with cello. By knowing what you want to hear, your body will do exactly what you want it to be. And that's our goal.

For intermediate:
We will expand your repertoire. The lesson will be customized by your needs, we will find the best way for you to learn more! If you have problems playing, we will solve it together too!

For advanced students:
We will find the most efficient and natural way for you to practice. And assign a periodic plan which fits you well and make sure that we will achieve your goal. I will also help you to see the music from different perspectives.

Hei! I am Wei from Taiwan, currently working as a pianist, cellist, film composer, and tutor in Oslo. Well, education has been a huge passion of mine, even though I very much enjoy performing on stage, it still excites me. I've started tutoring since I was 19, so I guess that it has been 8 years since then. The age of my students is from 5 to 70 years old. So never feel that you are too young or old to learn an instrument.

Music has taught me to handle pressure, facing my own emotions, and finding peace in myself. Therefore, there is a part of me eager to share my experience and knowledge with people.

I love children, and I will see myself as a patient, easy-going and interesting person. My goal is to create a safe, relaxing place for you to learn and explore.

Explore yourself by improvising or composing (no instrument requirement)

Improvising is a good way to find peace in yourself, at the same time a great way to let out your emotions. There is no form in music. In that way, there is no need if you know how to play an instrument or not. You just have to know how to make sound, for example singing, clapping, or tapping on a bow. We will explore sound together, and let it become your language.

Composition in another way is very much connected to improvisation. Music theory is provided if you need it. We can either compose on the music sheet or on the software. We will find out exactly what you need help with!

Alessandro

Alessandro graduated with honors at Conservatoire “G. Martucci” in 2008, obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Classical Saxophone. He then moved to Belgium, where in 2013, he got a Bachelor Degree in Jazz Music at LUCA (Lemmens Instituut) in Leuven, studying with Frank Vaganèe (Leader of the Brussels Jazz Orchestra). Here he founded a new jazz band called L- Town Connection, winner of Dinant Jazz Festival Young Talent Contest in 2011. Alessandro then continued his studies at CODARTS in Rotterdam, obtaining his Master’s Degree in Jazz in 2016 and studying with the teachers Simon Rigter, Dick De Graaf, Ben van den Dungen and Milan Bonger.
He has collaborated and performed with various artists such as Frenna, Giacomo Turra, Akua Naru, Sly5thave, Ed Motta, Young Gun Silver Fox, DeWolff, Dawn Brothers,Shirma Rouse, Ghostface Killah (Wu- tang Clan), Dj Yella (N.W.A.) and many others performing at renowned venues across Europe and USA such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Lowlands, Melkweg, Couleur Café, Koninklijk Concertgebouw Amsterdam, De Doelen, Gentse Feesten, Vienna Sunsplash and many more. .

Private cello lessons for anyone interested in learning cello from the start or developing further and gaining new motivation. I focus on developing solid technique in a natural and healthy way, combined with musicality and enjoyment. Lessons may include note reading and playing together, but also playing by ear and improvisation for those interested. Repertoire is always tailored to the student’s goals, from classical and folk to jazz and popular music.

My goal as a teacher is to nurture and deepen each student’s love for music, while providing the skills and guidance needed to keep them motivated and challenged.

I studied there and later moved to Italy to continue my musical education. I have also attended numerous masterclasses and courses with renowned teachers from all around the world.
