A young professional with enthusiasm and energy for everything STEM & engineering! I attended Imperial College London and graduated with a Master's in Aeronautics in 2019. I was raised & schooled in the UK (Scotland) and now live & work in France.
I have worked across a number of domains in engineering, so I can offer the context in which STEM learning can contribute meaningfully to your career: from vehicle simulation in Formula 1 to flight control & AI systems in Robotics; and guidance & control in space (current). I have built my career on an "understanding-first" approach to technical content that covers many disciplines. I offer Maths & Physics at all levels: Baccalaureate, GCSE, A-level, University level, or equivalents.
I offer an informal setting in which my pupils feel comfortable, and tailor the pace and level to each individual's need.
As I work full-time, I offer remote lessons on Zoom in the evenings (Paris time), using a virtual whiteboard as a visual aid.
Lessons typically last 1-2 hours, as preferred.

For the moment, I only offer classes in English.

For physics, chemistry, and biology, the instruction is tailored to the secondary level, specifically up to the 5th year of secondary education in Belgium.

This class is aimed to train
1) high-school students undergoing VWO or an IB curriculum, who are having problems following math at school or university,
2) Anyone who wishes to take the VWO Math-A/B/C entrance examinations by Boswell or CCVX and wants to train for that.

I offer private mathematics lessons for all levels from secondary school (from first to last year) up to university level (bachelor's degree).

A computer science and applied mathematics engineer (PhD in applied mathematics), I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in mathematics. I have also completed teacher training (agrégation) and taught mathematics at Collège Saint-Pierre (Uccle) as well as in two European Schools, in French.

I have the official certificate allowing me to teach in French. Although I am a native Dutch speaker, I can therefore teach without difficulty in French (and also in English).

My name is Arjen. I give tutoring and exam training in math and physics for upper secondary education (Dutch HAVO/VWO, IB, or other similar programmes). With a completed degree in Aerospace Engineering, I help students not only with solving problems, but especially with understanding the “why” behind the theory.

I start with a short diagnosis: where is the real difficulty? Based on this, I create a personal learning plan that I share with the student. In this way we work in a focused way on those areas where most is to be gained. During the sessions, the focus is on recognizing structure and analyzing problems step by step, so that students become more independent and their confidence gets a boost.

In my explanations, I regularly use examples from technology and engineering. By linking abstract theory to real applications, it becomes clearer where the mathematics or physics comes from and what it is needed for, and things often suddenly “click”.
