VCE psychology isn't an easy subject... but with the proper resources and techniques, you can nail it! I completed psych as an enhancement subject across Years 10 and 11 and had a SAC average of 97%, achieving runner-up dux of the subject.

Over the years I completed this subject, there was a lot of trial and error in working out the best way to tackle SAC and exam prep, how to word answers, how to remember the concepts, etc., and I would love to help you out, and show you that it doesn't have to be a difficult subject!

Extra informatie

Have a laptop and any of your psychology resources handy (workbook, textbook, etc.). It also helps us both out if you prepare some questions prior to the lesson, so that we can work out what we need to focus on!

As a previous IGCSE & IB student graduate I understand the stress and difficulty in preparing for both the Mid-terms and End of year exams. The curriculum provided for both subjects will be based on deconstructing the theory into smaller sections which are then each focused on key vocabulary and factual information. Additionally, for each subject a clear essay structure for exams will be outlined and practised based on IGCSE & IB grading criteria. Dependent on how close the student is too their final or mid-term exams lessons will be personalized to improve on their limitations and conjointly a structured summary will be created to optimally succeed in their exams.

This is not a class, but an opportunity to discuss difficult situations in life. As a professional social worker I will provide you a listening ear, advise where possible and it's an opportunity to spar about certain situations. There will be no judgement and I'll be there to support you. I can't offer a one-size-fits-all solution, but this is meant to vent and to possibly see situations from a different perspective. Reseach Methods in Psychology entail the different ways you can conduct a study or an experiment. There are several different methods which can be chosen from based on the type of study you want to conduct.
These methods have their advantages and disadvantages. Research methods essentially provide structure to your experiment and help you analyse and examine the procedure and make amends as and when required.

Self-Inquiry is a mindfulness-based healing method, ideal for people dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, burnout and psychosomatic symptoms.

I love things that are simple, practical, and effective... something you should be able to explain to a 10-year-old. Self-Inquiry is a method for restoring and maintaining healthy balance — something that really should be taught in school. It is practical, straightforward, and profoundly effective.

The method is based on the principle that the signals we receive from the body are designed to guide us toward a happy, healthy, and long life. In spiritual traditions, this collection of signals is often called “the Inner Compass.”

Just like a small cut on your finger heals on its own when the right conditions are created, the body can also heal energetic, emotional, and mental blockages when we listen and support the process.

The body is constantly communicating with you — through pain, tension, pressure but also through feelings and emotions, love, inspiration, curiosity, and vitality. Even though the body is always trying to guide us toward happiness, many of us in the Western world have never learned how to listen to it or act in alignment with its signals.
So... back to basics!

From my own experience, I know how tempting it can be to search for happiness outside yourself while ignoring what the body is trying to tell you. Fifteen years ago, I ended up in a burnout — a very loud message from the body that it was time for rest and reflection.

The good news is: you don’t need to wait until things get that far.

During the sessions, you will learn:
- how to reconnect with yourself, your body, and the signals it gives you — and how to translate those signals into daily life
- how to live in alignment with your deepest truth, your personal boundaries, and your deeper longings

I will give you the tools to explore your inner world and support your own healing. And I will guide you through regular, facilitated Self-Inquiry sessions to help you deepen the process. The combination of personal practice and periodic guided sessions provides the best results.
