Violin lessons for intermediate - professional students

My main goals as a teacher are to help my students improve their technical skill, mature their musical ideas and learn effective practice methods.

The outline of my typical lesson consists of scales, a study and a piece. This creates a solid technical foundation while also expanding the students repertoire. Depending on the student’s goals, I can also incorporate aural/ sight reading practice into the lesson to move onto the ABRSM or Trinity syllabus to prepare for graded exams.

Über mich

I first picked up the violin at age 5 and I have since dedicated my life to learning the instrument. I am currently a scholarship student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where I am building my professional career. I have given recitals internationally, including in England, France, Israel, Japan and New Zealand and I have gone on tour to Hong Kong with a piano quartet.

I also enjoy being a teacher and I have gotten to enjoy being one for approximately 5 years now. My experience includes private teaching, numerous projects with primary schools to introduce music to young children and coaching chamber groups.

Graduated from Wells Cathedral School with A for Biology, Music and Chemistry and a B for maths A level.

I am a vastly experienced violinist and composer with a Masters Degree from the prestigious Lucerne Hochschule - Musik in Switzerland and Postgraduate Degree from Trinity Laban in London. I'm a very dedicated teacher, who loves to work with students from all age groups and levels of experience - one of the joys of teaching for me has been to help others find their own potential through consistent work.

I structure the class around three different aspects:
* addressing technical issues - intonation, bow technique and sound quality, posture
* music making - learning about the style of each composer/of each piece, developing repertoire
* interpretation - understanding harmony, finding an emotional connection with each of the pieces
As part of the weekly-lessons, I provide you with exercises and tools to be able to follow-up on the above. We will work together towards reaching your goals and potential, whilst maintaining a balance between the joy of music-making and achieving a high quality.

Provide individualized violin instruction to students of varying ages and skill levels.
Develop and implement customized lesson plans based on the Suzuki Method to foster progressive skill development and musical understanding.
Prepare students for Suzuki examinations, ensuring they meet the required standards for each level.
Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
Organize and conduct recitals and performance opportunities to enhance students' confidence and stage presence.
Collaborate with parents to create supportive practice environments at home, offering guidance on effective practice strategies and techniques.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.

Each student is unique and has their own strengths, weaknesses and goals, and guiding them along their path is like solving a different puzzle every time. And I love puzzles!

I tailor my teaching to the student, so in a first lesson I like to get to know you a little bit, hear about your ideas, your goals and what your relationship to the instrument is. And then we work from there.
As a freelancing concert violinist, my availabilities are subject to change. Please contact me for more information.

In-person teaching is essential for beginners, but I also offer online-teaching to more advanced students.
I offer lessons in English, French, German and Spanish.
