Because you are forced to speak the language! Due to that, I focus on pushing my students to speak in the language they want to learn. We will be talking about your favorite themes so in every class you will tell me which theme you want to talk about in the next class.
My goal is to keep students challenged, but not overwhelmed. My classes are very interactive and fun, so my students are motivated.

Hi, my name is Beatriz, and I am an English and Portuguese teacher. I am from Portugal, and I live in Lisbon.
I have over 300 hours of experience teaching English, Portuguese, and German to children, teenagers, and adults.
Languages are my passion. I love getting to know new countries and new cultures and being able to speak the languages of the countries I visit.
In recent years I have learned to speak Spanish fluently and have now started to learn Italian. For this reason, I know exactly what the difficulties are in learning a language and I know that it can be a bit awkward to speak a language that you don't know very well. However, you can feel comfortable making mistakes with me because I too am a student and make mistakes when learning a new language.
My classes focus mainly on the conversation. Every class we will discuss a topic that interests you and as we talk, I will correct your grammar mistakes and help you expand your vocabulary. This way you can perfect your speaking and listening skills as well as expand your vocabulary and learn some grammar.
The lessons are totally customized to your interests and goals, and for that reason, the materials will vary according to what you are looking for. However, we will use course books, grammar books, videos, and authentic materials such as newspaper and magazine articles, brochures, etc. And if you need some extra homework to do after class, I always have some extra resources that can help.
