Classical Harp and Clarsach Lessons Available in London

I am offering private harp teaching to individual students. I offer tuition in classical harp alongside traditional Scottish and Irish music. I grew up in the Highlands, where I began playing the Clarsach learning by ear. I studied classical harp from the age of twelve at Aberdeen City Music School, the Music School of Douglas Academy and Chetham's School of Music (my teachers included Alina Bzhezhinska Lazorkina, Murdo Macrae and Marie Leenhardt).
After finishing secondary school i attended the Norwegian Academy of music and studied under the tutelage of Isabelle Perrin.
I have experience freelancing with various British and Scandinavian Orchestras and ensembles, and have spent a lot of time working with jazz and contemporary music projects.
I have been teaching privately and through arts organisations in the Highlands of Scotland for the last few years, and have developed a great passion for sharing knowledge and my love of the harp.

I am currently a student at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. I'm in my third bachelor's degree. I have been taking harp lessons for 13 years with various renowned teachers such as Eline Groslot and Annie Lavoisier. During this period I also gained a lot of experience as a concert harpist. Including the second prize in the Concours Français de la Harpe (2017). And for 3 years I also give private lessons in harp and solfège.

These lessons focus on both (young) children who want to learn harp and adults who want to start using harp. Each student is guided at his own pace and the lessons are adapted to the wishes of each student.
Note learning lessons are also adjusted as much as possible to the student's pace.

The content of the lessons is adapted to the needs and wishes of each student.
It is possible to follow a combination of music theory and instrument, or only focus on one aspect.

Depending on the student's goal, the level, teaching method and music styles are adjusted and personalized in consultation.
Together we will look at what your learning needs are and which method suits you best.

As a harpist I have experience in various styles, from classical music (baroque, impressionism, classicism, romanticism and contemporary music), to folk music, jazz standards, pop songs or minimalist music.
In addition, there is also the possibility to work from improvisations and develop your own compositions.

The lessons are suitable for all ages and levels, the personal profile of the student is central.

I find it important to always look at the needs and specific learning requirements of the students and adapt my lesson content accordingly.
