Step-by-step workshop to create a beautiful animal illustration which will teach your child skills in line pressure, shading, toning, texturising and surface pattern design.

I will demonstrate and guide your child through the drawing process, starting with line pressure and applying simple geometric shapes and intricate patterns and textures to create their own animal illustration.

Présentation

I'm extremely passionate about my subject, so alongside my art practice I have worked as an Art educator for eleven years, devising and delivering holistic and educational workshops and classes for children starting at age three and up.

I also regularly run adult level workshops. These have taken place in both formal and informal settings and have included a wide range of ability levels. My background in textiles and illustration has provided me with a diverse set of skills which enable me to plan and deliver engaging and insightful sessions via a wide range of media and processes.

Primary Education and children’s workshops

April 2018-present
Currently working part-time as the Room 13 Artist in Residence at Old Ford Primary School in Bow. I lead art projects for students in Key stages 1 and 2 and the SEN provision class.

January 2021
Commissioned by Rosetta Art Centre to write and deliver a series of online art workshops for children with SEN. The programme is currently being used as a teaching resource for Newham based schools.

June 2019 - present
I devise and facilitate accessible craft workshops for the Museum of London, Docklands family festivals on a freelance basis.

March 2018- present
I deliver sustainable living/craft-based workshops for families at public events for organisation Sunny Jar Eco Hub.

January- March 2018
I devised and facilitated a series of story inspired craft workshops for children with learning difficulties and disabilities and their carers at Discover Children’s Centre.

June 2014
I devised and delivered a series of Urban Wildlife workshop for Southwark based children aged 5-11 at CGP Gallery.

Devised and delivered a visual art summer school to help ESOL learners improve their English language skills at Grand Junction, W2.

Delivered three-month experimental illustration and printmaking evening classes to adult learners at Poplar Union.

Devised and delivered a series of experimental life drawing classes for The Lost Lectures Electrograph event/lectures.

I provided textile and art workshop cover for elderly learners attending the Art, Knit and Chat Group through charity Splash Arts.
