I am a native teacher with more than 10 years experience teaching absolute beginners to more advanced students, so regardless of your level, you are in great hands!

I firmly believe teaching is a pleasure and that learning should be fun. We should laugh during class! That ́s not to say I am not professional, but the more you enjoy learning the quicker progress is made! I am very communicative, dedicated, warm and funny and I will show you that learning can be fun and that Dutch is a very interesting and funny (I didn ́t say beautiful!) language. I love helping, I believe firmly in positive feedback and am very patient! I am fluent in English and Portuguese, so being a complete novice in the Dutch language isn ́t a problem!

Education

After completing high school, I studied in the US for a year and when I came back to Holland I studied Sociology and Communication Service for 2 years. Even though I don ́t hold a degree in teaching, I can assure you that I am qualified and the references/reviews will prove that!

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

I am a Belgian (Flemish) and French student with a Masters in International Public Law (Amsterdam) and a Masters in Global development (University of Copenhagen). World traveler, I have lived in Thailand, Denmark, Greece, the Netherlands, US, Switzerland and many more countries, where I both dtudies and worked as a legal advisor.

2022-Now:

2023:
Tutor of Dutch at Varady Language school in Geneva

2021-2022:
I worked at "bijlesthuis," a Dutch tutoring institution, where I primarily taught French, Dutch, and English to adult learners seeking to improve their language skills. During the same period, I also provided classes to other students through Apprentus.

2021:
Through Apprentus and other websites, I assisted several younger students (ages 5-15) in Bern and Geneva, helping them improve their skills in subjects such as Maths and French.

2017-2020:
I worked for three years at a tutoring institution in Geneva called ARA, where I primarily taught French, Mathematics, and English.

During this time, I also spent two years working at a private school called Florimont, where I supported students aged 11-16 across various subjects by assisting them with their homework.
