Ik ben Tuur, professioneel drummer en componist. Na mijn studies aan het conservatorium en jarenlange ervaring op internationale podia, wil ik mijn kennis en passie graag met jou delen.

Tijdens de lessen werken we aan:

• Techniek & timing – de basis van elke goede drummer
• Groove & feel – hoe je écht muziek laat swingen
• Meespelen met muziek – leren spelen in verschillende contexten
• Improvisatie – vrijheid achter de kit
• Stijlenstudie – van jazz, fusion, Afrikaanse en Latijns-Amerikaanse ritmes tot pop en rock

Of je nu beginnend bent of al wat ervaring hebt: samen bekijken we wat jij nodig hebt om verder te groeien. Mijn doel is om mijn vaardigheden en enthousiasme door te geven, zodat jij niet alleen beter leert spelen, maar ook meer plezier haalt uit drummen.

Tuur is een Belgische drummer en componist met een brede muzikale achtergrond. Na zijn conservatoriumstudies in Rotterdam (NL) speelde hij op internationale podia en werkte hij met uiteenlopende projecten in jazz, wereldmuziek en fusion. Met zijn ervaring en passie deelt hij graag zijn kennis, en weet hij zijn leerlingen te inspireren met zowel technische vaardigheden als muzikaliteit.

Tuur begon zijn muziekstudies op 8 jarige leeftijd aan het Conservatorium van Mechelen, wist al snel dat muziek zijn roeping was en ging verder aan het Lemmens Instituut Leuven, waarna hij zich verder specialiseerde aan het Codarts Rotterdams Conservatorium (NL)

20 jaar ervaring als muzikant, drummer en componist. In alle continenten getoerd met verschillende artiesten in verschillende stijlen van jazz tot Magreb, Latin en Braziliaans tot Afrikaanse stijlen.

Je suis diplômé du Conservatoire de Nice CNRR (France) en guitare jazz.
J'y ai suivi mes études durant sept ans avec des professeurs renommés tels que Jean Paul Ceccarelli (Sting), Pierre Bertrand, Robert Persi ou encore Philippe Petit.

I'm looking for student's who not only want to learn a great technique for singing but whom also want to find and develop their own unique sound so they can express themselves through the art of song and tell a story.

I am a trained singer- songwriter & professional musician with a BA (hons) in Composition. Originally from london I moved to Brussels to do my masters degree. I am a trained singing with a level of grade 8, I have also spent the last 6 years touring as a front women and also a backing singing with various artists around europe, including 1 top 10 artist. I understand that although it's great to have a strong technique it's also about letting go and having confidence in your ability so you can relax in the moment.

I welcome students of all levels and all ages and teach a range of genres from Jazz to Rock. Alternatively I am happy to focus on technique if that is something you prefer to work on.

My name is Federico and I am a professional and Award Winning saxophone player.
I worked at Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles as an Assistant Professor of Jeroen Van Herzeele the jazz saxophone professor.
I graduated at Conservatorio G.Martucci of Salerno (Italy) and had both Bachelor and Master with full marks with honors. During the course of my studies i also spent two academic years abroad , one at the Kask and Conservatorium of Ghent with the supervision of Bart Defoort and one at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles with John Ruocco.
In 2017 i won the "Massimo Urbani International Jazz Competition" prize that saw as head of the jury Kurt Rosenwinkel & Fabrizio Bosso.
I play in several Jazz bands and I have been performing all around Europe.
I recorded a solo album called "Right Now" with the famous Italian label "Philology Records" & the album"Supernova" with my own band. I also recorded several albums with different bands and of many styles, from jazz, funk to pop.
I toured with the famous Italian Drummer Tullio De Piscopo (Pino Daniele, Mina, Astor Piazzolla's drummer) and also had the chance to make a variety of television appearances on Italian National Television (Rai1, Rai5, Rai3).

The course method, inspired by the Agostini school (French method used in French and Belgian academies and conservatories) is divided between technique and drums. At the rate of one session each we will focus once on technique and movements outside the drums (on pads) and the other time on the drums and the application of technique and movements.

-> The technique lessons and the movements will be those of the so-called 'Moeller technique' that I learned through his direct lineage of student.
-> The drum lessons are greatly inspired by the pedagogy of the M.A.I. (Music Academy International - Nancy (fr)) and in particular that of Richard-Paul Morellini, renowned instructor.

The courses are complete, in-depth but above all specifically thought of to be progressive. They are suitable for children from 7 years old as well as adults of all ages.

=> Particular attention is paid to the movements and their correct application, to the total independence of the limbs and finally to an understanding of the rhythm and its theory. My main goal is to give the student complete control behind the drums and skills to be able to self-learn any piece in any musical style. 1 hour of weekly lessons are never enough, they should only be used to fuel the passion that will make you play at home more and more.

On demand or for advancs students:
- I am very passionate about the study of South American rhythms. Due to their complexity, apart from the samba and Baïon ostinatos, they are not included in the program before the advanced level. They can be at the request of the student.
- I am also specialized in metal (musical style) and double pedal. The latter is not included in the program unless requested by the student. The double pedal courses are based on the methodology of Virgil Donati.

* Moeller technique (the 'whipping motion' - the Free stroke -Full/Half/Low stroke - accepting the rebound - its application etc.)
* Snare rudiments and their applications through reading systems
* Readings of scores and exercises for the snare drum
* Speed drills
* Military marches
* Control of the different subdivisions (quarter notes - eighth notes - triplets - sixteenth notes - quintuplets - sextuplets - triple eighth notes - nonolets etc.)
* Displacement of accents and polyrhythms
* On request, double pedal technique (application of the Moeller to the double pedal as well as everything listed above but with the feet)

Musicien professionnel depuis de nombreuses années, je suis actuellement en dernière année de chant jazz au Conservatoire de Leuven. J'étudie le chant et je joue du saxophone, du piano et de la guitare. Je compose et écris ma propre musique. Je peux enseigner chacune de ces matières séparément ou créer un programme personnalisé en fonction des intérêts de l'élève, allant du solfège à l'improvisation jazz en passant par le "singer-songwriter"!
