Hoe ziet een les eruit?
Mijn filosofie is simpel: de praktijk staat centraal. We duiken de theorie in waar nodig, maar het doel is altijd om jou beter te laten spelen, niet om van buiten te leren. Ik wil je zo snel mogelijk klaarstomen om mee te draaien in een band, mee te doen aan een jamsessie of gewoon de muziek te spelen die jij graag hoort.

Dit zijn de vaste ingrediënten van mijn lessen:
- Songs & Repertoire: We beginnen snel met het meespelen van nummers die jij leuk vindt. Zo pas je techniek meteen toe in de praktijk.

- Creativiteit & Songwriting: Je leert niet alleen naspelen, maar ook zelf creëren. Hoe bouw je een goede baslijn? Hoe zorg je dat die past bij de drum? We werken aan jouw eigen muzikale stem.

- Gehoortraining & Jammen: Wil je kunnen meespelen zonder partituur? We trainen je oren zodat je sneller akkoorden en melodie herkent. Elke les sluiten we af met een kort momentje improvisatie: gewoon durven spelen en luisteren naar wat werkt. Beetje stress om te improviseren? Geen probleem, ik ook. Ik help je daar met plezier doorheen, zodat je je op je gemak voelt in eender welke setting.

- Techniek & "Theorie in de vingers":
1. We leren de nek van de bas blindelings kennen (waar liggen de noten?).
2. We oefenen op scales (toonladders), modi, arpeggio's en omkeringen. Niet als saaie rijtjes, maar als bouwstenen om interessantere baslijnen te maken.
3. Voor wie noten kan lezen pakken we ook zichtlezen mee. Kan je geen noten lezen, maar wil je dat wel leren? Top, doen we.
4. We leren meespelen met akkoordenschema's.

Voor absolute beginners: Ben je net gestart? Dan nemen we onze tijd om de basis goed te krijgen. Je leert het instrument goed kennen, en we nemen ook de notenleer op een laagdrempelige manier mee, zodat je een stevig fundament hebt.

Het einddoel? Dat jij zelfzeker op een podium of in een repetitiekot staat, weet wat je doet, en vooral: plezier hebt in het spelen.

Heb je zelf nog geen basgitaar? Dan kan je tijdens de lessen eentje lenen van mij.
Ik raad je wel sterk aan je eigen instrument te zoeken (huren, lenen, kopen,...) zodat je niet enkel tijdens de les kan oefenen.

Hoi! Ik ben Julie. Muziek is de rode draad in mijn leven. Ik heb intussen al wat ervaring op de teller, zowel live op het podium als in de studio. Omdat ik geloof dat je nooit uitgeleerd bent en ik mijn spel naar een hoger niveau wilde tillen, ben ik, naast mijn vaste job, basgitaar gaan studeren aan PXL Music in Hasselt. Die kennis combineer ik nu met mijn praktijkervaring in uiteenlopende projecten, van alternatieve rock tot Studio 100 covers.

Naast muzikant ben ik in het dagelijks leven content marketeer. Waarom is dat belangrijk voor jou? Omdat ik die structuur en helderheid meeneem naar mijn lessen. Ik ben geen chaotische muzikant, maar iemand die samen met jou een plan maakt. Of je nu je eerste noten wilt leren, zelf nummers wilt schrijven of aan je techniek wilt werken: we doen het op een manier die bij jou past.

My teaching method is flexible, as I can give lessons for a specific purpose (passing an exam, passing a test...) as well as working with people who are just looking to learn an instrument as a hobby.

I have experience teaching children from 6 years old up to adults. Depending on the age and the goal you want to achieve with the classes, the lessons can be between 30 and 90 minutes long.
