Piano lessons for children who are at beginner level

I offer beginner piano lessons at mainly at my home (Waterloo) to children just starting to learn the piano aged between 6 and 12 years.

This course is based on an original method, mine, which is a combination of theory and on-hand practice.

Can I introduce myself?
I am Marc pianist and sound engineer.
I started my piano lessons with Leo Caerts jr. After secondary school piano in the municipal music conservatory of Leuven and private lessons from Erwin Deleux I followed the (Russian school) method. I am a student of A. Mogilevsky (student of the gifted professor Timakin) and Youlia Zaichkina. I also participated in masterclasses with prof. Alan Fraser and Fabrice Eulry and I perfect myself in classical harmony and composition with Erika Budai.
I give piano lessons classical and jazz / pop, jazz harmony, classical harmony and this for beginners as well as advanced and all ages. Highly sensitive people are welcome. The lessons are given in a very professional environment.
I would like to share my passion with you!

I also give house concerts on request.

I am a professional violinist. I graduated with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Master) and hold a Bachelor Diploma from Codarts (Rotterdam).
I also pursued a masters degree in Music Education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

I teach students of all ages and levels.
I have fifteen years of teaching experience in the Netherlands and in Belgium ( privately and at music schools/muziekacademies).

In my lessons I help the students to find a good contact with the instrument and cultivate a positive relationship with music by integrating the development of aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body use, enabling them to connect with their musical imagination.
The lessons are adapted to each student's needs and wishes.

The Moscow violinist, a graduate of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Vienna Conservatory, and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (with honors), teaches violin to children, adults, and teenagers. Lessons in piano, harpsichord, and historical and modern cello, with program and repertoire, adapted to the goals and speed of each student, whether young, not so young, or adult, for a general introduction to these instruments, for preparation for high music education, as a supplementary aid for exams in music academies, or for a hobby, or for amateur group music-making, or for developing qualities as concentration, coordination, discipline, expressibility, awareness of styles and music history.
In my teaching, I rely mostly on old traditional methods, books, and repertoire, which have proved their efficiency over the time. I also make use of the teaching tradition of partimenti of the old Neapolitan conservatories - exercises for composing that can be applied from early stage. This not only adds a creative element soon after very beginning, but also teaches via practice the basics of harmony and polyphony.
Lessons can be combined (+30min.) with theory/solfege (ear training), if the student wishes.

I have been teaching for more than 15 years, privately, in Brussels, and in New York in the past, more than 100 students.
I am a graduate of Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, in baroque cello and harpsichord, but I play also modern cello organ, and piano.

Giovanna raised and formed in Florence, where she began her guitar studies at the age of five at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. In September, she graduated cum laude and she's currently enrolled in the Master’s program at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, studying with Antigoni Goni.

Winner of many international competitions, she performed plenty of times in Italy and in 2023 she has held a solo concert in Milan for the XXXVIII Società Umanitaria's concerts season. Next to renowned guitarists, such as Luigi Attademo and Giorgio Albiani, she performed the world premiere of Álvaro Company’s Concert Català for ten guitars, in the revision by Vincenzo Saldarelli.

Alongside her performing activity, Giovanna has developed a strong dedication to teaching adults, children, and teenagers. She tailors each learning path to the individual student, carefully balancing personal interests with technical and artistic development, whether for amateur musicians or students preparing for conservatory admission. Her teaching approach places particular emphasis on physical awareness and well-being, guiding students toward healthy and efficient use of the body while playing. Music theory is fully integrated into her lessons and is always connected to practical application on the instrument.
