Drum lessons by a professional jazz musician | Music Business

Hello, my name is Jack. Since the age of 14 I have been a professional touring Jazz drummer. I'm originally from the UK but I've relocated to the beautiful Portuguese town of Setubal (happy to travel further afield). I spend my time playing with some of the UK's and Europe's finest jazz musicians and also running a business promoting concerts. Since moving to Portugal I thought it would be nice to share my approach to the music and also the knowledge I have learnt over the years.

My approach to teaching music is very different to the conventional way. I don't read music and that's not what I'm about, I will teach you to use your ears. For me music and jazz music in particular is all about feeling and having fun, sadly two things that can get lost in music education. This is something that I'm very passionate about changing. I have made a very successful career from music without ever having any formal education, if you want to know how get in touch!

I am predominantly a jazz drummer but can also touch on other styles. Before agreeing to any lessons I will want to get to know your goals and what you’re working towards to make sure we find the best fit. Aside from drum lessons I am also offering lessons in music business and how to get work as a professional musician.
