The lessons are customised according to what the student wants to improve and learn - conversational, grammar based, text based, your call! My name is Duarte, I was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal, I'm 30 years old and I live in Madrid, Spain.

In terms of teaching style, I'm a very relaxed teacher and I like to make my students talk as much as possible, while trying to make sure they're also relaxed enough to learn, enjoy the lessons and gain confidence. I always try to adapt my lesson to the student's personality, considering topics or skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing) that he/she might like/need improvement on and the student's strengths and weaknesses.

I have a Business Administration degree from the Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon and a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) certificate from the Berlin School of English.

I've been teaching Portuguese for a year now. I first started as a English (ESL) teacher after getting my CELTA certificate in March 2019 but eventually found a job as a Portuguese teacher at a school called Iberika, in Berlin (I left Berlin in the beginning of March). There I taught intensive courses to small groups and also gave One-to-One lessons, to both beginner and intermediate levels. Now I'm focusing in teaching online.

TECHNOLOGIES FOR LEARNING.

My name is Laurie and I am an independent FLE teacher, graduated in French and Romance languages and literature since 2012. I have five years of experience under my belt (abroad and in Belgium). I have created a teaching method for online courses.

The course includes:
-The material (articles, videos, exercises from images and texts, grammatical theory, links to the exercises...). I use Google Doc so it's best to have a Gmail address to access it.
-The correction of exercises outside of class (the written expressions are corrected outside of class, or with the student, according to his needs).
-Access to an application (free) to study vocabulary on your smartphone.
-A vocabulary sheet - pronunciation - grammar / conjugation, sent after each course.
-If necessary, a vocabulary recording (for beginners).
-The realization of online exercises and tests from the sent vocabulary sheets.
-Motivation, laughter, good mood :-)

My method:
- It's based on speaking.
-For grammar I use a question/answer method (learned during the training at the CERAN center).
-We work on pronunciation with the verbotonal method (exercises for setting your voice, for rhythm, etc.). I might even make you sing! :-)
-Everything goes through the spoken word before the written word, but I clearly adapt to the needs of the students.
-The course is a little different for children and adolescents: I use interactive games and cards via webcam.

I also very often use situations close to the student's experience, such as describing places they have been or talking about what they have experienced. At the same time, I teach the grammar rules to the student. I now live in regions where French has been spoken for over 30 years.
