I completed Biology HL in IB with a 6 overall. I am now studying it at the university level and am ready to help students struggling with IB Biology SL. I am familiar with the syllabus and can help students break down complex topics into simpler concepts that are easy to digest.

We will begin with a lesson in order to get to know each other and see whether our goals align. We will discuss what exactly you need help with and make a weekly tutoring schedule. At the end of every class I expect students to let me know what they need help with next time or tell me 3 days before the next lesson at the latest. This ensures each class makes the most of our time together. At the beginning of the next lesson we will do a few practice questions to revise out previous class and continue with the next desired topic.

Ik heb ruime ervaring met het geven van bijles en het begeleiden van leerlingen bij verschillende organisaties. In de afgelopen jaren heb ik gewerkt met leerlingen van uiteenlopende niveaus, waarbij ik heb gemerkt dat ik veel energie haal uit het uitleggen van lesstof en het vergroten van zelfvertrouwen bij leerlingen.

Mijn interesse en passie liggen vooral bij de vakken geschiedenis, aardrijkskunde en maatschappijleer/burgerschap. Ik vind het belangrijk om deze vakken niet alleen inhoudelijk duidelijk uit te leggen, maar ook te laten zien hoe ze aansluiten bij de actualiteit en de belevingswereld van leerlingen. Daarbij besteed ik veel aandacht aan structuur, overzicht en het aanleren van effectieve leerstrategieën.

In primary and secondary school, I had many friends who struggled with specific subjects, which I didn't. It also happened the other way around. It was great to be able to help each other with this. When that wasn't possible, we received tutoring from a great coach, and this helped us all pass our exams.

During my lessons, we will regularly focus on topics that stand out to you or that you find interesting. This makes learning much more fun. Additionally, we ensure that the tasks that need to be done are completed as stress-free as possible. I hope to achieve that you can eventually get started on your own with more self-confidence, so that tutoring is no longer even necessary! I can also assist with exam preparation, homework, or help with studying.

We will start by taking stock of what you need, what you already know, and where I can help you. This way, we can create a personalized lesson plan. We will also discuss the best learning method for you. Do you learn best by writing, reading, or perhaps by telling stories or playing?

I provide lessons and/or guidance to primary school, VMBO/MAVO, HAVO, MBO, and HBO students.
