Welcome to this English class, where we will thoroughly examine the English language's nuances. You will improve your language skills and acquire a deeper appreciation for the nuances of the English language through a variety of engaging activities, discussions, and readings.

This class will cover a variety of topics from various categories, such as:

Literature: We will break down and decipher artistic works from different periods, sorts, and creators to develop how we might interpret how language can be utilized to convey meaning and inspire feelings.

Writing: Through various assignments that focus on composition, grammar, and rhetoric, we will improve our writing skills. You will acquire the skills necessary to effectively and creatively express yourself by studying various writing styles and methods.

Linguistics and language: The English language's structure and function, including phonology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics, will be the subject of our investigation. You'll learn more about how language works and how it can be used to convey meaning if you look at it from a scientific point of view.

Relational abilities: Through various activities and assignments that focus on public speaking, interpersonal communication, and media studies, we will work on improving your ability to communicate effectively. You will figure out how to utilize language to associate with others, convey your thoughts, and convince your crowd.

You will have improved your language skills and acquired a comprehensive understanding of the English language by the end of this course. As an English teacher, I have had the privilege of helping students of all ages and backgrounds develop their language skills and discover the power of communication. One of my most rewarding experiences as a teacher was watching a struggling student gradually gain confidence and skill in their writing. TECHNOLOGIES AT THE SERVICE OF LEARNING.

My name is Laurie and I am an independent FLE teacher, graduated in French and Romance Languages and Literature since 2012. I have eight years of experience under my belt (abroad and in Belgium). I created a learning method for online courses. I have been preparing students for the DELF, DALF, TCF, FIDE, admission exams, etc. for several years.

The course includes:
-The material (articles, videos, exercises based on images and texts, grammatical theory, links to the exercises, etc.). I use google doc, so the ideal is to have a gmail address to be able to access it.
-Correction of exercises outside the course (written expressions are corrected outside the course, or with the student, depending on their needs).
-Access to an application (free) to study vocabulary on your smartphone.
-A vocabulary sheet - pronunciation - grammar/conjugation, sent after each lesson.
-If necessary, a recording of the vocabulary (for beginners).
-Carrying out online exercises and tests based on the vocabulary sheets sent.
-Motivation, laughter, good humor :-)

My method:
-It is oral based.
-For grammar, I use a particular method which allows oral structures to be automated.
-We work on pronunciation with the verbotonal method (exercises to pose your voice, for rhythm, etc.). I might even make you sing! :-)
-Everything goes through the oral before going through the writing but I obviously adapt to the needs of the students.
-The course is a little different for children and teenagers: I use interactive games and cards via the webcam.

Have you dreamt of reading Shakespeare and making sense of his words ? Did you know that some Shakespearian plays are easier to tackle than others ? In this class we will be looking at one of Shakespeare's fantasy comedies or one of his tragedies. We will read the play together and discuss the usage of words, as well as its historical contexts. We will study the most important passages in the way they have influenced world culture. I encourage my students to memorise these passages by heart, a gratifying experience.
