I have been studying English for as long as I can remember and currently I am a university student who is studying both English Language and Literature - as well as this I have some experience working with teenagers and young adults.

I like to think of myself as a listener first and a talker second: my teaching methods involve hearing the student's questions, queries, and concerns and then offer my advice and guidance; because English is quite a discursive topic I like to place emphasis on the student's idea and conception of a topic.
Students can expect honest feedback and an excellent standard of tuition from me.

My experience, as limited as it might seem, consists of tutoring students with reading difficulties as well as students preparing for their GCSEs - the results of both were quite positive with all students seeing improvement.

Opleiding

From 2013-20 I was studying at King Alfred's Academy in Oxfordshire - I achieved my GCSEs and my A-Levels here. My English GCSEs are an 8 in Literature and a 7 in Language and as well as this my A levels are a B in Literature and a B in Language.

Leservaring

My experience consists of being a Reading Partner for intellectually challenged year 7 and 8's - this was throughout the academic year of 2018 to 2019, so September through May. As well as this I was a Peer Supporter for a year 7 tutor group, this was from September 2019 to April 2020.
I've also privately tutored 3 students with their GCSEs.

My qualifications so far are my GCSEs and A-Levels.

A qualified language coach with 25 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online.

I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam.
Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach.

In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level).

We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. In addition to teaching, I want to do everything to really motivate students to take the next step. That is my strength!

You can also choose the online lesson package with Whereby, Teams or Zoom in a comfortable way. Online classes are one-on-one or maximum one-on-two, for better results.

My English is fluent, as well as Portuguese and Spanish. I understand the difficulties of overcoming barriers for Latin languages and for expats in general, as I have also been an expat.

Online lessons last 75 minutes once a week for 10 weeks to reach a higher level.

This is the normal speed. Including exam training (A-2 or Staatsexamen) and exam at the end.

Intensive training ? That can also be done in five to ten full days, I am used to giving these very intensive trainings to CEOs or managers who want it faster and more intensive ... all lessons within 3 or 4 weeks. Based on the European system A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and C-1

As soon as students want to further improve their knowledge of Dutch, I always advise and coach them to take the State Exam I or II, the only formal Certificate in this country, recognized by employers and universities.

I will try to switch to conversation after a few lessons, to put your knowledge into practice as soon as possible. Don't get too caught up in the grammar.

Teaching is my ultimate passion and even after 25 years it feels like the first time and students always feel inspired to overcome the obstacles.

I also teach you about Dutch social culture, which is intertwined in the course and is strongly related to the language.
