Hello everyone, my name is Katarina, and I come from beautiful Serbia. After I finished my Bachelor studies, I spent some time working on cruise ship, as string quartet musician, and there I traveled around the world, from Singapoure to U.S., and back to Serbia to finish my Master degree. I love taching music to other people of all age, and amongst my other interests, the one I like the most are hiking, cycling, reading and doing yoga. I also play in many orchestras, I have my string quartet and string duo, with whome I play not only classical music, but also pop, rock, tango and other genre. I play in band who compose Serbian gipsy music, and there I learned a lot about improvisation on violin. With my string duo, I am in collaboration with yoga studio in Dubai for whom we play on online sessions.

Education

I am teaching violin for over five years now. I teach people of all age because I belive it's never too late to start doing what you always liked. I finished Master degree on Academy of arts in Novi Sad and I regularly perform all types of music with String duo and quartet. I like to adapt my method of work in depence of students age and personality, so I think that comunication during the class is very important. I apply combination of Russan and Suzuki tehnique in teaching begginers. Also I have books from which I work, so if you are a begginer you do not have to worry about providing sheet msic. If you are an experienced musician, I can help you learn your favorite piece or song. If you need to prepare your exam or audition, I can help you do it. As violin teacher I practice a lot with my students so I am also a good help in practicing.

I am a professional violinist. I graduated with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Master) and hold a Bachelor Diploma from Codarts (Rotterdam).
I also pursued a masters degree in Music Education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

I teach students of all ages and levels.
I have fifteen years of teaching experience in the Netherlands and in Belgium ( privately and at music schools/muziekacademies).

In my lessons I help the students to find a good contact with the instrument and cultivate a positive relationship with music by integrating the development of aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body use, enabling them to connect with their musical imagination.

Hi there, I'm a professional violin and viola teacher, teaching in person and online, in English, German or Russian.

Alongside teaching 1:1 and coaching chamber music over the last 12 years, I've led numerous workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ in the UK and taught on the Primary and Senior Arpeggione Viola Courses run by Jacky Woods, coaching some of the UK’s leading young musicians. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I have participated in ESTA conferences across Europe, including at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, and in Valletta, Europe’s cultural capital in 2018.

I regularly prepare his students for auditions, competitions and exams at all levels, and has a holistic teaching style incorporating music theory, aural and sight reading skills and physical awareness. Many of my students have won regional and national competitions and have been accepted into specialist music schools and youth orchestras.

Outside of teaching, I performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, recently including at Kings Place London, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Philharmonie Berlin. I received first prize at the Małopolska competition, the Barbirolli Prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and the Len Lickorish Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League International Strings Competition.

I hold a Masters degree with first class honours from the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, where I studied with Tabea Zimmermann, and the University of Arts, where I studied with Lawrence Power, as well as a Bachelors degree with the same distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where I began in the primary department 20 years ago.

My name is Juliette, a young professional violinist who obtained my master's degree at the Brussels Conservatory in 2018 in the class of Shirly Laub. With my experience, I offer violin and music theory lessons. I have been teaching the violin for 10 years, while continuing my activity as a substitute at the National Orchestra of Belgium and at the Brussels Philharmonic.

I'm an established, qualified, and experienced violin teacher who has worked in London for the last 26 years. I'm now back in Belgium for some new musical adventures, as well as to meet new students.

I welcome students from the age of four to adults. I have a real passion for transmitting my love of music, and I like to have a creative, playful and holistic approach to teaching. I also play the piano and often use it for aural training or to accompany my students (or do violin duets). I do believe that music is not just for competitions or exams but a skill for life that can bring tremendous joy, discoveries, friends and fun along the way. Learning an instrument is also a great way to foster different qualities such as patience, diligence, presence, resilience, deep listening and the ability to express and share our emotions with others.

Having explored many different violin methods and styles, I take a different approach according to each student. I like to teach a solid classical technique with some scales, studies and pieces, but there are many different ways to make music enjoyable or find other paths depending on the student's goal.

Although I was trained classically in Belgian Conservatoires and the Guildhall School of Music, I do like to teach a variety of music that is not just classical (Celtic, world, klezmer, jazz, tango, film music, pop...).
I often encourage my students to compose or improvise freely. In the last two decades, I have led many youth orchestras and violin workshops and worked for many different primary and secondary schools in England.

I'm a member of the European String Teachers Association.

A very progressive method by ear to develop accuracy, memory and the ability to free up one's playing in order to be able to adapt it to very different or new styles.
I focus first on the plasticity of the sound at the same time as the awareness of rhythm takes place, the accuracy comes of itself as well as the obviousness of the good bow strokes which bring this expressiveness, these colours, these accents and these variations of intensity so specific to the violin.
Each student has a particular character, some have by nature a nervous tendency, others who have a bow that is too choppy need to make their playing more fluid, still others are naturally hyper relaxed, (as was Stéphane Grappelli, which is why he was praised by the greatest classical virtuosos, who envied him this predisposition).
Without sheet music, some people get stuck, unable to organically integrate melodic lines, rhythm, and musicality into the appropriate style. This is very common, which is why it's essential to play primarily by ear. For those who don't know how, it comes gradually; it's always the case, and it's important and reassuring to be aware of this in order to progress more easily.
Some have to work on their speed of execution, while others will have to concentrate on the stability of their sound over a longer bow stroke and the different speeds of vibrato...
etc... there are so many situations
All the necessary synchronizations for playing the violin fully must be acquired, regardless of the students' initial abilities. These are the first steps, which can differ according to individual temperaments. Moreover, it is these temperaments that shape their personality and tastes in a certain way, becoming their hallmark, and sometimes even their Achilles' heel, with which they will always be more or less at odds. This, in fact, represents a very beneficial and invigorating support, serving as powerful reference points for navigating challenging hurdles. Indeed, one often has to encounter obstacles to have the joy of knowing how to overcome them! And mastering the countless techniques of the violin requires facing them, ultimately leading to intense moments of fulfillment!
