Study skills are an essential part of being successful on any course. Within these classes we will cover a range of essential skills that will help with academic life and completing assignments successfully such as: essay writing, researching, reading techniques, referencing, presentation skills, time management and any other aspects of academic life that you feel you need help or support with.

During my studies in Econometrics at the University of Amsterdam (graduated in 2015, MSc.) and in addition to my job as a consultant, I have always taught mathematics and statistics to secondary school students and university students (HBO and WO) with great pleasure. Since 2017 I have assisted students from different study backgrounds (from civil engineering to psychology) with writing their thesis and since 2022 I work parttime as a math teacher and educational advisor in the Emma Children's Hospital in Amsterdam and I teach private students.

With your course fee you can participate in any of our courses whenever you want. This way you can not only learn to act, but also taste our courses in debate and presentation techniques (our TV course), communication, singing, improvisation, 'physical acting', lie detection, hypnosis, directing, or writing! Of course, the following applies: the more you follow 1 particular course, the faster you progress.

With this you register yourself for one or more lessons, after which you can also follow the entire course.

For more than 10 years, Badass Intensive Acting Studios has provided a unique acting course for film and TV. The team behind the acting training therefore tries to give its students every opportunity to achieve their goals, whether it is to build more self-confidence, find a fun and social hobby, or actually act in front of the camera. This often requires stuck out in order to enter the unpredictable world of cinema, often with varying results.

In our renewed TV course you will not only learn all the tricks of the trade, if you actually want to stand in front of the camera to record videos, you will receive a free membership for a year at the Association of European Journalists (AEJ). You will also receive an official pass and access to both the press center in Brussels and the Dutch House, in the same European district.

Explore Public Speaking through...

Intonation and Melody

When training for a presentation, decide which words and passages deserve extra attention and increase the tone to emphasize these points. If something sounds exaggerated or false, your audience can turn against you.

Volume

A speech is not ordinary conversation, and a presenter can’t convey passion and enthusiasm if the words are delivered softly.

Clarity

Don’t forget to articulate every word, to ensure clarity on your part and understanding on the part of the audience.

Emphasis

Even in the same sentence, emphasizing different words can change the focus of a message. Changing emphasis can alter meaning and/or implication.

Pauses

when pauses are placed in strategic spots in a speech, they can make the difference between a good and an excellent presentation. There are several purposes for which pauses can be used: to give listeners a chance to absorb something that’s just been said; to generate expectations about something that’s going to be said...

Pacing & Tone

If you often get negative feedback about the faster or slower delivery of your speeches, practice delivering a speech sometimes faster and sometimes slower, so you can arrive at a natural pace.

Hello :) I am an ESL instructor with a BA in American Culture&literature and Teaching English and conducting one-to-one lessons. Currently, I am studying for a master's degree in Applied Linguistics and Tesol, U.K.My specializations are Business English and exam preparations for Toefl, IELTS, Toeic, Cambridge Advanced and Online Teaching.
