As a freshly-arrived french student in Maastricht, I am looking to help people, of any age and any level, learn the great but difficult language that is French ! I like to tailor the lessons to the student in front of me, taking into account his or her age, level, possible learning specificities to make sure they get the best learning environment possible.

Hi there !
I was born in Paris and I have lived my whole life in France, which makes me a native speaker. Now that I have started my studies at university, I have more time than I used to and I would love to teach french to other willing students !
I wouldn't consider myself strict as a teacher but I do believe that learning a language is based on repetition and practice which means that if you are not ready to put in the time, the results won't be what you expect.

I graduated high school and now I am a freshman at the University College Maastricht. I obtained my French Baccalaureat exam with a 16/20 GPA, with electives in literature and history.

Let’s learn Korean together! I know learning a language like Korean can seem difficult or intimidating at first, so I would love to share my knowledge with you to make it easier and fun! After self-studying Korean for 5 years, I continued my studies at Seoul National University. Currently I am working as a music teacher while living in Korea. Do you want to prepare your child for French lessons in the first year? Then I offer the opportunity to get acquainted with this language. Much of the communication in such a lesson is in French, but for children who are just starting I give explanations in Dutch. The main thing is that children enjoy learning the language. That is why games are also played in class. Topics can be 'greeting someone' 'telling something about yourself, naming colors, etc.

France is a popular holiday destination for many Dutch people. However, it can sometimes be difficult if you want to order a baguette or croissant and in the event of a breakdown on the road you will first have to call in a 'dépanneur' who will tow the car to a nearby garage, because France does not have a roadside assistance service. Google translate then seems useful, but a translation machine knows no grammar and interpreting the context of a word is also not possible. "I have a breakdown with my car" translates as "Je n'ai pas de chance avec ma voiture". Now a garage owner can conclude from that that you have problems with the car, but you make yourself better understood by saying: "Notre voiture est en panne."
Even if you are considering buying a house in France, you can take a course to overcome a language barrier.

Learning French is a new challenge. This language has its own rules and they are not always logical. There are many ways to learn the French language and you can always find one that suits you. But how do you know what suits you? I will discuss this with you prior to a tutoring session. With extra explanation and targeted exercises I help you to get better in the French language. But I also look at how you learn the material and I give you tips to learn smarter. Of course I provide variety with the help of French material, just think of songs, film fragments and reading a piece from the most famous newspapers such as 'Le Figarot' and 'Le Monde'.

MY EXPERIENCE
As a native French speaker, I know the beauty and poetry of the language inside and out, and I’m excited to share it with anyone curious to dive in. Since high school, I’ve offered private tutoring to students aged 10 to 17, helping them with everything from grammar worksheets and book reviews to philosophy essays and creative writing assignments.

As for English, I was raised in an international school environment where English was a core part of my education from childhood through high school. I earned my TOEFL certificate before beginning my current bachelor’s studies, which are entirely in English. I've also taught English with a focus on pronunciation, grammar, syntax, and practical communication skills.

When tutoring, I place strong emphasis on tracking progress, often by assigning homework (if agreed upon) and creating clear, structured plans to help students stay on track.
