My name is Julia and I have played the violin for over 16 years. I am in love with music, with my instrument, and I absolutely enjoy sharing my passion and knowledge with my students.
I can help you with musicianship (music skills normally taught to younger children), music theory and violin!

Hello!
My name is Julia, welcome to my lesson!
Although I am only 23, I have already four years of experience teaching as an employed teacher in a primary school and a secondary school. I have also trained as a Colourstrings Violin Teacher.
I believe that everyone can improve their musical skills and I love helping my students find their voice through music. I try to use methods that are encouraging and nourishing, giving my students challenges that make them love the process of learning.
As I myself am still a student - currently enroled in a Master Program in Codarts University of the Arts (Rotterdam) -, I am still very close to the challenges of learning violin, and of course to the joy of music making!
I like to combine my studies with working, both as a teacher and as a performer.

Hey there,

Are you in need of a talented and fun-loving music teacher? Well, look no further! I'm your gal.

First of all, let me just say that I love music. Like, seriously love it. And there's nothing that brings me more joy than sharing that love with others. That's why I've spent the last decade of my life teaching music theory, performance, and technique to students of all ages and levels.

But here's the thing, I don't believe that music has to be all serious and stuffy. In fact, I think that learning music should be a fun and enjoyable experience. That's why I strive to create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere in my lessons, complete with jokes, puns, and maybe even some karaoke sessions (if you're lucky).

Looking for a piano teacher? In Utrecht you will find the friendly Spanish professional pianist Mar. She lives in Utrecht and studies at the Rotterdam Codarts Conservatory of Music, and has already a master's degree from the Utrecht Conservatory (with pedagogical training as well)
She teaches in English, Spanish, Italian, German and soon in Dutch. Lessons can take place at your place or at my place (in the centre of Utrecht) as I have a beautiful grand piano at my disposal. Lessons in Utrecht (and surroundings), Houten, Vleuten, De Meern, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

As an experienced violinist and a violin teacher, I offer violin lessons for students in every age and level of advancement. During our lessons, I will help you discover the beautiful and magical side of this instrument.

BEGINNERS
If you are a beginner, I will teach you some basic violin and music skills. In the first lessons, we will do simple exercises to teach you how to hold the violin and the bow in the correct and relaxed way. In the lessons, you will also learn some basic theory, reading music, and basic rhythms.

From the beginning, you will be playing some nice, simple tunes and violin duets. The lessons are held in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

ADVANCED STUDENTS
In our first lesson, we will talk about students’ needs expectations, and level of abilities and choose the right repertoire for you. If you need some help with music theory – I can also help you with pleasure!

Lessons are available in English, Polish and basic Dutch (level A2) and take place in the heart of the Rotterdam City-Center!

- in possession of an (electric) piano
- time for daily tutorial
It concerns a course of 5 lessons, in principle during 5 consecutive weeks.

Bandoneon is a very well know instrument for playing tango, in fact it's part of the genre's DNA. However,
not many people know that the instrument was constructed in Germany and some people even say it was supposed to be used as an portable organ.

This means that the Bandoneon has a technique that is independent of any genre. This technique is not found by coping other instruments such as the organ or keyboard but through the development of the nature of the instrument. This is mainly the importance of the air and how it is affected by the pulling and the movement we make when we play.

Of course Tango will be an important axis of the lessons as it very important for the development of the instrument and for specific techniques but Tango won't be the starting point as it's not the best pedagogical tool for learning the instrument. But no worries, we'll get there ;)

Have you ever wondered how a Gregorian chant, Bach, Mozart & Chopin might sound in the bandoneon? The results might surprise as you would get a very different sound from the one you are originally used to. Also, we can try and use the bandoneon for different and new genres, who knows what we might discover from the instrument along the way?

Composing music can be intimidating, but it’s actually stimulating and hands-on, and it’s not all about sitting at a table in front of a paper imagining music. In these lessons you’ll learn about composition techniques, harmony, melody, rhythm, form, composing through improvisation, and much more. Music is a really beautiful art to learn. As a musician, I want my students to have a good experience and minimmum knowledge to develop new skills and learn new instruments.

I am currently studying for music teacher at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, and with experience in piano and bassoon teaching.
