My flute lessons are designed for beginners and intermediate students who want to learn in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. I focus on building a solid technical foundation while encouraging musicality and creativity. I will also teach you music theory in order to make everything very clear and easy to understand! Each lesson is tailored to the student's goals, whether you're learning for enjoyment or aiming to improve your skills, we'll work together step by step to make playing the flute enjoyable and rewarding!:)

I started playing flute when I was 10 years old and since then I knew that I what to share my knowledge with other people. I love to work in a great atmosphere and it is really important for me to have a great connection with my students and to make them feel safe to share their ideas with me.

Education

I was a student of first and second degree music school in Poland. After the graduation I left to study in Brussels and now I’m a second year student in Royal Conservatory of Brussels

My name is Monika and I’m a 2nd year student at Royal Conservatory in Brussels. I love to work with people and share my knowledge that I gained throughout the years by attending a lot of lessons and masterclasses with great professors. If you would like to start playing flute or develop your flute playing I would love to help you and share everything that I learned:). We can work with different repertoire, the most important thing is to find one that suits you the most and one that you have the most fun with! Raúl is a Spanish saxophonist who finished his DIDACTIC MASTER in 2018 at the École Supérieure des Arts in Mons. Previously, he also completed a MASTER OF INTERPRETATION at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (2015-2017) in the class of Alain Crepin and Simon Diricq.
He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente.

Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of the mixing of all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic goal. This type of research could be observed in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of human needs where he mixed live, recorded music, dance, light shows and effects under the name: “according to Maslow... ”

In terms of his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo performances, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra...) and different countries such as Japan (Artisanal Musical Fair "Suono Italia" 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016...), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (Music Festival “Quincena Musical” 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Festival Kutxa 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

Hello everyone ! I am 39 years old, I am a professional guitarist and graduate composer. My rich and varied musical journey, going from "Art Rock" to Classic, passing by French song and currently jazz allowed me to acquire a beautiful experience that I like to share with my students.

Obviously passionate about my favorite instrument, I am just as passionate about music theory. From baroque counterpoint to jazz harmony, from classical orchestration to digital music publishing, I have always thought that understanding the sound universe multiplies perspectives, opens up new horizons! During my training, I had the opportunity to study with famous teachers with whom I was able to discover different violin techniques and different pedagogical approaches, which allowed me to create my own methodology. If Italy gave me the passion of sharing and communication (a typical Italian characteristic), Belgium taught me to convey a message, an idea in a concrete way. My meeting with Mr Lawson also made me aware of the importance in the life of an artist to share his knowledge, and teaching is for me the best way to put this sharing into practice.

Concernant le contenu du cours je le module en fonction de vos attentes et objectifs.

Je lie systématiquement le travail concret de l'instrument ( Classique, Variété ou Jazz ) avec un apprentissage minimal des éléments de base de la pratique musicale en général : théorie de la musique, formation de l'oreille intérieure, développement de la sensibilité harmonique, mélodique et rythmique, solfège etc... Je peux volontiers aborder tout cela plus profondément à la demande de l'élève, c'est passionnant aussi vous verrez !

La première rencontre sera l'occasion de discuter de tout cela, afin de mettre en place un cadre adopté à votre profil (Jeune enfant débutant, adolescent confirmé, adulte en reprise ou autres...)

Je considère que l'essentiel est de trouver un bon équilibre entre les exigences de rigueur inévitables pour progresser dans l'apprentissage du piano et le plaisir immédiat de jouer de la musique, qu'on est en droit d'attendre d'un si bel instrument !

The course method, inspired by the Agostini school (French method used in French and Belgian academies and conservatories) is divided between technique and drums. At the rate of one session each we will focus once on technique and movements outside the drums (on pads) and the other time on the drums and the application of technique and movements.

-> The technique lessons and the movements will be those of the so-called 'Moeller technique' that I learned through his direct lineage of student.
-> The drum lessons are greatly inspired by the pedagogy of the M.A.I. (Music Academy International - Nancy (fr)) and in particular that of Richard-Paul Morellini, renowned instructor.

The courses are complete, in-depth but above all specifically thought of to be progressive. They are suitable for children from 7 years old as well as adults of all ages.

=> Particular attention is paid to the movements and their correct application, to the total independence of the limbs and finally to an understanding of the rhythm and its theory. My main goal is to give the student complete control behind the drums and skills to be able to self-learn any piece in any musical style. 1 hour of weekly lessons are never enough, they should only be used to fuel the passion that will make you play at home more and more.

On demand or for advancs students:
- I am very passionate about the study of South American rhythms. Due to their complexity, apart from the samba and Baïon ostinatos, they are not included in the program before the advanced level. They can be at the request of the student.
- I am also specialized in metal (musical style) and double pedal. The latter is not included in the program unless requested by the student. The double pedal courses are based on the methodology of Virgil Donati.

Technique:
* Moeller technique (the 'whipping motion' - the Free stroke -Full/Half/Low stroke - accepting the rebound - its application etc.)
* Snare rudiments and their applications through reading systems
* Readings of scores and exercises for the snare drum
* Speed drills
* Military marches
* Control of the different subdivisions (quarter notes - eighth notes - triplets - sixteenth notes - quintuplets - sextuplets - triple eighth notes - nonolets etc.)
* Displacement of accents and polyrhythms
* On request, double pedal technique (application of the Moeller to the double pedal as well as everything listed above but with the feet)

Drums:
* Bass drum reading and independance
* Snare drum reading and independance
* Applications of ghost notes
* The 16 sixteenth-notes ostinatos

Graduated in cello in Barcelona, finishing my master in historical cello at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Passionate cellist with a lot of experience in performance and education. I specialize in historically informed music, so I try to understand the context around each music I play, so we enter into a dialogue between current events and the era in which the music was created.
