In my lessons, I spare no effort in trying to encourage a sense of personal meaning and value in the material used to help each student achieve more clarity and confidence in the language. I feel confidence is key in overcoming any kind of fear, so I make sure that students get through this, step by step, with practice and communication both inside and outside the classroom. I’m very laid back, but I’m also a perfectionist in the sense that I don’t like to do things ‘half way’; I would rather complete a small task and build things up step by step to produce quality results, rather than do a large and overwhelming task which will only give poor results.

The way I tailor each lesson according to the specific student's needs is by beginning to establish the level in which they are at, and then ask them what it is they want to achieve: whether they want me to help them polish up their level of communication at work, within social environments, or even prepare for a specific exam or a performance. Once this is clear, I prepare the lessons in a way that I find is suitable for their objectives, always paying close attention to their performance in order to keep shaping each class in a way that a steady sense of progress is achieved. The classes will always be interactive because I believe this is the best way to ensure continuous interest, and therefore motivation, and that it will help me understand which areas are most difficult for each student so that I can keep shaping the lessons in their favour.

Hi! My name is Nadine. I've always been very passionate about arts and culture. I am a very creative, energetic and enthusiastic person. The most important thing in anything I do is making sure there is a genuine connection - whether it be with the people I’m working with, or the subject matter I’m dealing with. I have had a very international upbringing, so I can genuinely relate to people from all kinds of backgrounds. Moving around so much as a kid, as well as my more independent travelling in recent years, has taught me that each person is different and has something special that can be built on. Therefore, I always treat each student as an individual and try to understand them by discussing their particular goals. At the end of the day, whatever the student’s goals are will be my goals too.

Opleiding

I have a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures (Universidad de Barcelona). My main focus was English and Spanish literature. Graduated with an outstanding final grade.

I am a certified level 5 ESL teacher, and I teach all levels from A1 to C2, with a passion for empowering students.
I provide unique and creative classes tailored to your specific needs, which we will first establish, as such we can focus on what is most important for you. I use a task-based approach to learning English, with the necessary vocabulary and grammar support, but I am a master in conversational classes (for professional or personal environment).

My experience? One of my first studies was Fontys Lerarenopleiding (Tilburg) to be a Spanish teacher. Part of this was teaching Spanish to teenagers at a high school, being a Dutch tutor for my university classmates, and staying in Madrid to study at the University of Nebrija for a month. I have something like 10 years of experience in teaching classes: individual and group, with children and adults, online and face to face. I live in Spain (now in Barceloneta) with my partner since 2019, I have studied in Chile for 5 months and 3 months in Mexico for my master's degree. My name is Bo. I’m 26 years old and originally from the Netherlands. Dutch is my native language, but I grew up with English as a second language. I’ve completed two degrees in English and also I have worked in English, so I can say it comes naturally to me. I’m passionate about learning languages myself, so I’d love to help you improve your Dutch or English.

I offer both conversation and grammar classes. If you’re preparing for a specific situation in English, this is the perfect way to get ready and build your confidence. I’m open to teaching all ages, and I also have experience caring for children, so if needed, I can combine childcare with teaching them English or Dutch.
