Amanda started studying the violin from age 4 with various teachers from the Sydney Conservatorium (incorporating influences from Suzuki and Alexander methods) and obtained a distinction in Licentiate of Violin Performance from the Australian Music Examination Board. In addition, she has performed in orchestral projects across Australia, Asia and Europe (including but not limited to the Australian Youth Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra Singapore and the Hong Kong Orchestra) and also enjoys curating chamber music projects as well as improvising with pop and theatre groups.

Amanda works very closely with her students to design a learning approach that works for both teacher and student, depending on various factors including but not limited to the student's musical background, technique and their commitment to learning. She can guide absolute beginners (children/adults) and/or people who stopped playing for a time and would now like to reconnect with the instrument. Nothing beats the feeling of making a beautiful sound on an instrument like the violin!

Hello! My name is Amanda. I am originally from Australia and have lived in Singapore, Hong Kong and currently in Amsterdam.

I started learning the violin at age 4 and haven't looked back since. I was influenced by a variety of teaching methods including Suzuki and Alexander techniques and incorporate these learnings as well as my extensive experience in solo, chamber, orchestral, and theater projects into the learning programs for my students. I had inspiring teachers from the Sydney Conservatory and enjoy passing their teachings as well as my own learnings onto keen students of the art of playing this beautiful instrument!

Violin & Viola lessons are for anyone who wishes to start playing, continue or rusume studying, for both children and adults.
I combine various practices which I believe create a greater whole. I teach basic to advance techniques in reprtoire which corresponds with the student's personality and ranges from classical to contemporary, improvisation, world, folk, pop, rock and more.
I combine repertoire with improvisation, composition, movement and other an interdicsiplinary manner.
My method is personal and about listening to the student wishes and ideas. If you're intrigued, I'd be happy to play, teach and exchange ideas with you!

About me - I've graduated BA in Viola from The Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance and BA and MA in Composition at The Royal Conservatory including an Erasmus semester at MIAM, ITU, Istanbul.
I was born in 1986 in Israel. Currently I live in Amsterdam.
I play viola, compose acoustic and electronic music (often involving theater and film), draw faces and make large-scale collages out of them, dance, research and experiment with movement & music, make performance-art, sing, improvise, make videos, write about my dreams, write poetry, perform as a soloist and with ensembles, initiate and taka part in many musical and cross-art collaborations.

Hello, I have extensive experience with students of all ages as a teacher of music theory, violin and viola. Custom classes, focused on student interests.
I studied violin degree at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Vigo in Spain and viola in Spain and at the Utrechts Conservatorium. The research of my final exam was about well-being and phisical education to improve and accelerate the learning process.
I want my students to be aware of the importance of good posture and technique in order to enjoy the learning process without problems.

You can come to me for violin lessons, folklore, jazz (theory), improvisation techniques and ensemble coaching.
Together we will look for your music and creativity. I make a lot of use of (together) playing and improvisation, technique is a guide for what you want to learn.
Getting to know the violin for young and old, playing with Balkan ornaments, improvising by ear or deepening in harmony or chord schemes, these are all possible subjects in my lessons.
My lessons are 30 or 45 minutes (not strict).

Aangeboden: Vioollessen in Amsterdam-Oost.

Zelf ben ik vanaf mijn 6e begonnen met vioolles. De klank en vorm van de viool spraken mij als klein meisje aan. Tijdens de vioollessen maakte ik kennis met veel verschillende genres zoals klassiek, klezmer, popmuziek, filmmuziek etc waardoor ik heb gezien wat voor mogelijkheden er allemaal zijn met het instrument. Ik keek elke week uit naar mijn vioollessen en ging er met veel plezier naar toe.
Mijn enthousiasme zette zich voort middels een studie aan het Conservatorium van Rotterdam (Codarts) gericht op wereldmuziek/tango. Ik kwam veel in contact met andere muzikanten en genres die binnen het conservatorium gedoceerd werden. Binnen en buiten school begon ik steeds vaker cross-overs te doen, voornamelijk popmuziek projecten.
Mijn interesse in het deelnemen aan bands en het verkleuren van het vioolgeluid (door pedalen te gebruiken en door versterkers te spelen) werd zo groot dat ik besloot om van studierichting te veranderen: sinds juni 2019 ben ik de eerste violiste ooit die van de popafdeling afstudeerde.

Vioolles
Bij de vioollessen streef ik ernaar dat de leerling plezier ervaart bij het leren bespelen van de viool. De interesse van de leerling staat centraal; elk persoon leert op zijn/haar eigen tempo en manier en heeft verschillende interesses en ambities binnen het maken van muziek. Het lesprogramma zal dan ook worden aangepast naar de behoeften van de leerling. Het plezier wat ik heb meegekregen tijdens mijn eigen vioollessen hoop ik ook over te brengen op mijn eigen leerlingen.
Er zijn mogelijkheden tot individuele lessen en duo lessen. Vanaf 5/6 jaar.

I am a professional musician, teacher, a violinist ( Master Degree with the honour of Moscow and Amsterdam conservatory) with more than 20 years of teaching experience. I taught for more than ten years in the Moscow Central Music school: later for many years in Moscow and Amsterdam conservatory, last years specialised in tutoring for ABRSM violin and theory exams.
I strongly believe that studying music, playing the violin makes an enormous difference for the developing of human brains, no mate which level you succeed and how old are you.

My name is Mathilde, I am a French violinist, pianist, harpsichordist, producer and composer.
I have graduated from the world’s great institutions such as the Royal College of Music London, Manhattan School of Music New-York, Brussels Royal Conservatory, and Paris-Sorbonne University (in musicology).
I have been performing concerts around the world in the most prestigious concert halls including the Châtelet Theatre and Seine Musicale (Paris), the National Opera House (Oman) and La Scala (Milan), as well as many other venues in Europe, US, China, Middle-East. During this period of time, I had been playing in the Orchestra Academy of La Scala in Milan for 2 years, and I am currently playing at the Metropole Orkest in Amsterdam.

With the experiences I gained over the years - including the teaching experience in the Conservatory of Cambrai (France) - I became an expert in teaching violin and keyboards as well as music theory, including writing and reading scores. I have been teaching to the different age groups and different levels of technical backgrounds (beginner or advanced). I can easily adapt myself to the level of each student to create a synchronicity and help them pursue their goals and wishes. I am there to help them as a teacher and a music coach for their musical career. I can combine different practices and teach basic techniques in repertoire that matches the personality of the student (from classical to contemporary, pop, rock and more). Based on the teaching experiences I have, I can consider myself as a teacher with patience, motivating style and an open mind. Private lessons for beginners to advanced level of violin playing. All ages are welcome. I am a professionally trained teacher and violinist for almost two decades. My lessons are given in English, Spanish and (basic) Dutch.

My teaching method is variable depending on the students' needs, but the goal is shared: to make a great musician and qualified violinist out of the pupil. I work on both technical and musical aspects from a (very) consciously prepared healthy and enjoyable perspective. Particular emphasis on having fun with the little ones!

I pay special attention to creating a personalized education and experience for every one of my students. I also give some additional tools applicable to the violin playing which includes: Introduction to Yoga, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique and Body & Mind. All the basic theory is taught too.

Occasionally, there are student concerts and collaborations with other teachers. (These may include some teachers from the Sweelinck Academy or the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and more).

From among the required tools for my lessons are: a violin and a bow, score and books purchases when necessary, and, from time to time, meetings with the parents. On occasion, I use digital tools like phone/tablet apps.

I can teach in various places near or in the center of Amsterdam, or, depending on the need, I can move to pretty much wherever in The Netherlands.

About the homework, I send it to the students on a weekly basis and encourage them to participate on competitions and summer music courses. As always, this is conditional on the pupil's stage.

I teach violin to children and adults, beginners and advanced.

Every student is unique. Besides developing good technique, I also enjoy meeting each student's musical wishes and dreams. Learning to play the violin is a collaborative process!

From the very first lesson, I pay a lot of attention to playing together, because making music together is the most fun there is!

In addition to individual lessons, I support my students' playing in orchestras, ensembles, and bands. There are also several opportunities to perform with the accompaniment of a professional pianist. Once a year, I organize a video recording day with several students for competitions and contests. My students have won awards, both in the Netherlands and internationally.

In addition to individual lessons, I offer a "MY LITTLE VIOLIN" STROLL COURSE for children aged 3-5. This course consists of 10 lessons for young children, introducing them to music and the violin. I also offer this course to English- and German-speaking children.

I teach violin in four different languages: Dutch, German, English and Italian.

Violin lessons at home are also possible.

About Me:
I'm a violinist with the Dutch National Opera & Ballet in Amsterdam. I've worked with numerous orchestras both in the Netherlands and abroad. I also perform chamber music and Brazilian choro (Duo Chorinho, with Alvaro Rovira Ruiz on guitar). I received international training at the conservatories of Hamburg, Rome, and Amsterdam.

I have been working as a violin teacher for over 30 years, including internationally, including a masterclass for Brazilian violin students at the University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
