Do you want to teach (electric) piano, keyboard or synthesizer? Then you have come to the right place!
Gosse (1989) has been giving piano lessons for more than 10 years and we are proud to announce that almost all students who start the lessons actually continue. The lessons are primarily focused on fun and development.
He knows from experience that the most important ingredients for learning to play the piano as effectively as possible are:

1: The pleasure of playing
The fun is increased by learning to play numbers that the student experiences as beautiful or fun and that bring the right degree of challenge. Gosse mainly specializes in Pop, Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, Bossa-nova, Latin and Light classical styles. Learn to play your favorite songs!

2: Learning in the way that best suits the student
There are three different ways in which someone can learn to play the piano: sheet music, by ear and (the relatively new way) through software programs such as Synthesia. The correct method differs from person to person.

3: Knowing the music theory / shortcuts
The three ways you can learn to play the piano described above help you press the right keys at the right time. But it can be easier. Namely by knowing the underlying music theory and / or the shortcuts!

Gosse also teaches music production (songwriting and producing). He is most specialized in the Logic Pro and Ableton studio programs. He also helps vocalists who want to accompany themselves on the piano.

If you’re interested in learning the flute and/ or gaining a new understanding of music through harmony, this lesson will provide that for you.

If you choose to, we’ll cover technique, improvisation, reading music, tone control and expression. We’ll also go over the fundamentals of harmony to give you the tools that will help with any other instrument. Your listening skills will also be developed. All entirely up to you, of course, we’ll only go as far as you wish.

With beginning guitarists I will be able to go through songs at level with the student that they can choose themselves or I will come up with something suitable to learn. With completely new guitarists I will be able to go through basic guitar theory. Guitar is difficult to learn but I am capable of explaining theory in a fun and informative way.

My name is Shak. I am 21 years old and currently studying at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. I've been playing different instruments for as long as I can remember and I've mainly started to focus on bass guitar. I also play in several bands and I have a lot of experience with the instrument on stage or in the studio. I also know a lot about everything that has to do with theory, so I make a lesson plan that is completely tailored to what you want to do!
Lessons can take place at my home or at school. I can also come to you, but I ask for a small extra travel allowance (included in the price)

My aim in teaching is to inspire students to become as involved in music as they possibly can, and find an interest in it that will stay with them forever. I have nearly 10 years of experience teaching, and have a piano at my home or can travel to your home.

I have a BMus Degree from Trinity Laban Conservatoire as well as an ATCL from Trinity College. In addition, I've studied at the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, Australia.

My primary focus is around classical music, but I am experienced in teaching Music Theory as well as non-classical styles.

I specialise in children’s music education and I am also often working with adult intermediates and self-taught students.
Even though I have my own piano studio in Rijswijk🎹 I have recently decided to also start teaching in my beloved town of Haarlem in my home!

As an option, I can also give introductory music theory lessons, to help you get to grips with the difficulties of musical language.
This course is aimed at all those who are just starting out or who want to perfect their singing skills, children or adults of all ages and backgrounds. /!\ Lessons will be given in English or French only, at my home in Amsterdam (Osdorp).

Course content

• Breathing exercises (to learn how to manage your breath and master good vocal support)
• Ear exercises (to develop in pitch accuracy and intonation)
• Vocalizing and voice exercises (adapted to the student's level) to warm up and develop a better voice technique
• Repertoire work on arias, songs or other musical pieces (classical or pop music, depending on the student's wishes) on which the student would like to progress
• (as a bonus, if needed) support or introduction to music theory

The musical goal and target level will be decided (under my guidance) on an individual basis in the beginning of our lessons, according to each student's wishes. The aim of this course is whatever suits you best: to improve your level in order to enter musical establishments, to progress in order to surpass yourself, or for the curiosity of discovering new things, or even just for the pleasure of making music!
