I have a Master's degree in Oboe Performance, and I obtained this degree with the intention of being able to teach young oboists and help them advance. I started studying with a private teacher as a freshman in high school and my skills exploded almost immediately. Since then I have experienced several different teachers and teaching styles, and I feel like I can find a way to break through for any student. By tailoring a lesson directly to the students needs, I feel confident that I can help improve anyone's skill on the oboe. I also obtained a concentration in music theory during my undergraduate career, and I feel that music theory is very important to the growth of one's musicality. I have done independent research and presentations in this field and have also studied privately, so I would definitely love to teach others the theoretical approach to appreciating music. With my wide array of skills and experience learning, I would love to pass on the knowledge I have learned to others striving to improve.
