I am a very open minded and creative tutor, i like to make learning as fun and resourceful as possible. After graduating from the International School of The Hague I decided to take a gap year to travel and work, although corona then came along and I was unable to do that, so it ended up being a year of rest. I am now in the process of attaining my Bachelor in creative business in the Hague.

From absolute beginners to fluent conversation in Italian!
A fascinating mix of language, culture, cuisine and current affairs from Italy – with a dash of necessary grammar!

For over 30 years I have been passionately teaching individual and group lessons to people of all levels. I am Gianni, a born and raised Florentine who has been living in Delft for quite some time. Florence, the birthplace of the Italian language, is also the city of Dante Alighieri, the founder of modern Italian. No, we are not related 😉, but just as Haarlem in the Netherlands is known for its ABN pronunciation, Florentine Italian is considered the standard language. I proudly convey this authentic Italian in my lessons.

Professional experience
I am currently a teacher of Italian at the Volksuniversiteit Delft, after having previously taught for four years at the Volksuniversiteit Rotterdam. In addition to my work as a teacher, I am also a professional singer of traditional Italian folk songs. I like to integrate this passion into my lessons, because music is a powerful tool for learning a language. Well-known lyrics and melodies not only make the learning process more fun, but also more effective. I often accompany my singing with guitar, which creates an authentic Italian atmosphere.

Teaching method
For beginners, I use an accessible textbook that explains the basics of Italian step by step. During the lessons, I immediately correct mistakes in sentences or pronunciation, so that you gain more confidence in speaking. My approach is practical and interactive: every mistake is an opportunity to learn something new, whether it is a word, a grammatical rule, an anecdote or a cultural context.

In addition, we pay attention to Tuscan cuisine and culture, so that you not only learn the language, but also experience the rich Italian lifestyle. For advanced I work with more advanced texts, current topics and conversations, so that you continue to develop your language skills.

I am Laura , a Spanish woman living in The Hague. I have been teaching and helping high school students with their homework and study methods since 2014 as a private tutor. I have experience as a language teacher in different schools in Madrid (extracurricular activities) for children between 3 and 10 years old. I work as a Spanish teacher since 2019 in various countries, helping numerous students to improve their speaking, listening and writing skills.

I studied Nutrition and Dietetics (4 years bachelor) at Complutense University of Madrid. Later and determined by my love for languages, I completed the BA in Linguistics in Leiden University, following the Brain and Cognition specialization, which focuses in how language and second languages learning works in a neural level.

Depending on the goal, the learning or lesson method is different. Normally, the first day I meet the student and we talk about what he or she expects and the topics we need to pay more attention. I teach Dutch to children, adapted to the level of the child, the age and the goals that wish to be achieved. The lessons can be given entirely in Dutch, or with explanations and translations in English where necessary (if the child speaks English). With young children I often use cheerful images, games and songs to learn the language in a playful way. From experience, this also works fine online, via video calls.

My name is Mohamed from Syria, and I hold a degree in Business Administration. My journey with the English language began with a deep passion for learning it.
