The clawhammer banjo is a playing technique specific to the 5-string banjo, different from that used in bluegrass. We use only the thumb and another finger of the right hand, closed, which strikes the strings. Used mainly in traditional American music, this technique adapts to various other styles. Ideal for accompanying singing or playing melodies, it can be both powerful and delicate. Its learning is accessible to everyone: without music theory or reading tablature. I teach it in the most natural way possible: by listening and reproducing with a minimum of written support. This is the quickest method to memorize pieces and develop the ability to learn new ones on your own.
