I'm Elena and I'm 29, I started to play violin when I was 10 and I'm a professional musician, violin and viola teacher and preparatory music teacher for children. My philosophy is that I like to combine my professional music carrier with teaching because I trust that you can't be a good teacher if you're not a good musician, and in the same time for to play well you need to be a good teacher first of all for yourself and after that it's possible to transmit your knowledge to your students.
My experience in teaching started when I was 21 in the private music schools and I did several studies about pedagogy during my path in conservatory and also when I was doing my degree in Psicology. Then particulary about preparatory music I did a specialization in Orff-Schulwerk pedagogy and I started also to teach it to children's group (age 4-10).
I came here in Netherlands for to specialize myself in Early music and in this moment I'm studying Baroque Viola at the Royal Conservatory of Den Haag.

I love to play and to teach my instrument. I play in different Orchestras, classical chamber music, and I improvise in contemporary music with body movement. I worked a lot on the body position while playing, which I think is very important in order to release tension in the muscles and feel freer with the instrument.

I'm a professional violinist and teacher, who graduated from conservatories in Gdansk, Maastricht, and Brussels. I'm also a violin teacher at The British School in the Netherlands in Den Haag. The most important thing is to have pleasure in the process of learning how to play the violin. My motto in teaching violin are words of my teacher, the legend of violin, Wanda Wilkomirska: "You can do something wrong technically, but always you can play beautifully." Being a soloist myself I always remember these words also when I teach. I shape my lessons in the most dynamic way, often accompanying the Piano. My name is Uma and I am originally from Spain. I have been living in The Hague for the past five years. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Flute in Madrid and a Master’s degree in Zürich, I recently finished a Bachelor’s degree in Early Music and historical flutes at the Koninklijk Conservatorium The Hague. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Music Education, which allows me to continuously refine my teaching approach.

Bassoon lessons:
In this lessons you will be able to learn how to play the bassoon, to blow and tune, to play in groups, understand the harmonic and melodic system of the interpretation of the different music styles. You will be able to learn how to make your own reeds and how to repair them.
Duration of the lesson is generally 60 minutes, but it can be always the student`s choice. The dynamics of the classes is focused on the interpretation and musical understanding, as well as the elaboration and maintenance of reeds, all looking for a positive, dynamic and fun environment.

Music Theory lessons:
Here you will be able to learn how to understand the composers and their music; historical and theorical reasons of why music is written in different ways during the evolution of music history. You will be also able to learn how to read and sing music. Composition skills are also available.
The duration of the lesson is under choice.

Both bassoon an music theory lessons can be combined.

I am a qualified concert pianist, conductor, composer, musicologist, professor (PhD), and teacher, with professional orchestral training, and outstanding pedagogical results. I provide:
