ABOUT ME

Hi! I am a 25 years old Greek Guitarist/Musician that just graduated from the Music Conservatory of Amsterdam and now doing my Masters in Codarts in Rotterdam.

Guitar/ Teaching is my biggest passion and i would love to share it with anyone who is interested in Learning and help them pursue their passion, goals and aspirations. In the lessons, i adapt my knowledge to the students needs in order to help them in the best way i can since everyones musical needs need and personality are different and require a different teaching approach .

TOPICS & DESCRIPTION:

Repertoire - Learning tunes/songs of your own interest and in any musical style.

Hearing - Indentifying scales, chords, intervals, chord progressions and melodies by ear and being able to play them on the instrument.

Theory/Harmony - This field is essential for anyone who wants to audition for a music university programme and needs basic music theory knowledge, or someone who wants to be more knowledgeable in music theory and analysis. I teach basic theory, Jazz theory/analysis, Pop Theory, and music analysis in scores.

Composition - Learning techniques and ways of composing in any style of music.

Technique - Soloing techniques (Alternate picking, legato, finger tapping, sweep picking, economy picking, Bending/Vibrato and expression) Scales/Arpeggios/ Modes, fingerstyle, right hand technique (For acoustic guitar) Rhythm Strumming techniques (for acoustic guitar)

Improvisation: Being able to play musically and with spontaneity over different harmonic progressions and tunes. I am also specified in pop/rock and jazz improvisation.

Yiannis started playing guitar from the age of 10 after his parents bought him a guitar for a present. After being self-taught for a year he decided to follow guitar lessons in the local music school of my town. In the meantime Yiannis started his own band called Speedalarm and performed in many festivals and stages in whole over greece.

In 2016 he started his bachelor studies in jazz guitar in the Royal Conservatory of Den Hague in the Netherlands for one year, and after he continued my studies in the prestigious Conservatory of Amsterdam where he got the opportunity to get coached by great jazz artists like Jesse van Ruller, Martijn van Iterson, Reinier Bass, Peter Bernstein and many others.

While being in amsterdam, Yiannis was part in different school projects and groups and played in many bars, stages, competitions, festivals and other venues. This year, after completing his bachelors, he started his Master studies in jazz guitar in Codarts Rotterdam.

Yiannis completd succesfully his Bachelors in Jazz music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and now he is continuing his masters in Jazz Performance at Codarts Rotterdam

Composition lessons are for anyone who wishes to compose music, for any instrument, emsemble and/or electronics music.

My teaching method combines various approaches and styles, supporting practice with theoretical knowledge, and most important developing creativity and helping the student in making their imagionary visions come real.

For each student a different palate of tools is offered, according to the student's musical wishes and ambitions.

I teach the basis of western-music composition - theory, harmony, counterpoint, score-reading, solfege, rhythm, analysis and more.
Further I suggest broad overview of world, jazz, pop, new/contemporary music, various styles in electronic music (popular and experimental), improvisatory compositions, graphic notation, text and game pieces, music for theater, film and dance and interdicsiplinary works which combine music with other art fields.

I have developed a method that allows you to learn this quickly.
My method provides general insight very quickly and at the same time is focused on you as an individual from the start.
Skills/conditions required for this course:
- be able to read music notes
- basic knowledge of chords on the piano
- in possession of an (electric) piano
- time for daily tutorial
It concerns a course of 5 lessons, in principle during 5 consecutive weeks.
The first two lessons may be split so that I can help you on your way every few days.

Composing music can be intimidating, but it’s actually stimulating and hands-on, and it’s not all about sitting at a table in front of a paper imagining music. In these lessons you’ll learn about composition techniques, harmony, melody, rhythm, form, composing through improvisation, and much more. Everything you need to translate your ideas into your own preferred genre of music. I'm Keith, a professional jazz singer, composer, and educator with over 12 years of experience. I hold a degree in Jazz Vocals from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where I graduated in 2022. Before moving to the Netherlands, I spent six years as the resident artist with an acclaimed a cappella theater group in Hong Kong.

My extensive background includes coaching amateur a cappella groups, teaching vocal lessons in Hong Kong’s secondary schools, and providing choir lessons at the European School The Hague since 2021. My diverse experience ensures that I can help you refine your singing abilities, regardless of your current level.

I also hold a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, which helps me approach teaching with both creativity and structured thinking. My interdisciplinary background has taught me to embrace diversity and think outside conventional boundaries — something I aim to bring into every lesson.
