The cumbia-relajación workshop is a concept that pays homage to ancestral rhythms linked to the Earth and to heartbeats. One of these rhythms is the "tresillo", which is found in several popular dances in Abya Yala / Anahuac / Tawantinsuyo such as cumbia, bachata,bullengue, reggaeton*, etc. This rhythm is also present in millennial cultures around the world.

The steps have similarities to movements in Tai-chi or Qi-gong, and have the potential to bring health benefits. It is an approach that has the potential to connect the moving body with the mind.

Socially, a circle dance can help release any inhibitions. The workshop aims to encourage safe spaces where we can dance alone, or in groups.

This course is intended for people wishing to practice oriental dance in the context of a private group.

Oriental dance is a dance of Egyptian origin, which includes many styles. Originally, it was a spontaneous and improvised dance, but today it is taught academically all over the world.

It is traditionally practiced by women, who express by this art their femininity, their vitality, but also their feelings, joys and sorrows. In general, this dance is characterized by the dissociation of the parts of the body (isolations) that can move independently of one another. In my classes, I teach you to feel salsa and bachata. If you feel them, you’ll be able to dance anywhere, with anyone, with confidence and flow. We’ll work from the foundation:

✔️ You’ll understand transitions and how to adapt to them.
✔️ You’ll develop your skills in partner dancing.

🌟 P.S.: Besides teaching Latin dances, I have experience in creating custom choreographies for weddings and special events. If you have a choreography in mind, feel free to share it, and we’ll learn it together!

FAQ

● Do I need dance shoes? No, that is not necessary. I recommend coming with comfortable shoes.
● What should I wear? I suggest you come in light clothes in which you feel comfortable.
● Alone or accompanied? You can come either alone or with a partner. I also offer couples classes.

This course is aimed at both novices and experienced people. We will progress at your pace thanks to personalized exercises. They will be adapted to your desires, your levels, your objectives.
