I support students at all levels of academic research and writing - from a first essay to a doctoral thesis. I specialise in qualitative research methods; data gathering and data analysis. I am very happy to work with students who have no experience of essay writing, especially those who have come to Higher Education through FE through alternative routes.
I support students undertaking research and written projects who are unable to get the level of tutorial support they need from their universities and want to achieve their full potential. I am also very experienced with students whose first language is not English, and students with dyslexia.

A lecturer and researcher of over twenty years experience, I have two degrees, a Doctorate in Design Education and am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I provide under, post-grad or research students in the social science, humanities and creative subjects with everything they need to know to plan, propose, conduct and write up a research project of any size at any level. I provide simple-to-follow support to make the research and writing process straightforward - and even enjoyable!

It is true that the philosopher is the friend of wisdom, but above all, he is someone who does not want to make mistakes in reasoning. Philosophizing is a way of reasoning and a way of solving problems that will never have a perfect and definitive solution. Knowing the distance between the Earth and the Moon is not a problem of philosophy, because it is enough to measure to solve it. On the other hand, knowing, for example, what justice is, is a problem of philosophy. A meter will not be able to help us know the answer. We must go about it differently, and in the courses I offer, I will teach you how.

The basic principle of the courses I offer is dialectics, like Plato's dialogues: reflecting together, making theoretical contributions, asking questions and seeking answers, and testing the validity of reasoning.

For the past 10 years, I have been teaching German using the philosophy methodology, having studied philosophy at the Master's level at Aix-Marseille University. It turns out that the analytical mind is very useful even outside the confines of philosophy. Today, there are even fields of activity such as management with philosophy or philotherapy. In recent years, some German students have asked me to also teach them philosophy courses, and that is why I decided to offer philosophy courses directly.

This course is aimed at learners with intermediate knowledge of Mandarin who wish to further develop their oral expression, writing and reading comprehension skills.

Together we will talk, read, and write about everyday and current topics (from studying, work, and travel to social media and Chinese culture). You will learn to conduct conversations more fluently, write clearly structured texts, and better understand authentic materials (articles, short essays, stories).

In class, we work with dialogues, role-playing, discussions, writing assignments with individual feedback, and reading strategies. In doing so, we discover Mandarin as the most widely spoken language in the world and as a language with a great future in both professional and everyday life.

The course is intended for participants aged 18 and over.

I have been a qualified, professional English teacher and translator for more than 20 years.
